Thinking of You & Sympathy Feed

Stampin' Up! Beauty of Friendship!

Hey there! Today I have a Thinking of You double z-fold I created with the Beauty of Friendship bundle!

The card base measures 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". The 1" x 11" z-fold arm is scored the same, but flipped opposite the card base folds to adhere.

IMG_2735 (2)

I used Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper for the background layers of each panel, adding a die-cut sentiment and trees. Gilded Gems add the finishing touches. I punched a row of pines with the Evergreen Border Punch.

Stampin' Up! Interlocking Gatefold with Nature's Harvest!

Hey there! I'm still playing with the Nature's Harvest bundle. There are so many possibilities with this suite of products!

For today's card I created an interlocking gate-fold card. I started with an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" layer of Soft Succulent card stock, scored and folded at 2 1/8" from the left short end (portrait).  I then folded the opposite end to meet the first fold in the middle. This created two flaps for the front.

I attached two pieces of Harvest Meadow designer 5 1/4" x 1 7/8".

For the interlocking flaps (cross-wise) I cut two pieces of Soft Succulent 4" x 2 1/4". I added a piece of coordinating Harvest Meadow designer paper cut 2" x 3 3/4" to each flap. I then adhered the flaps, one on each side of the of the card.

Stampin_up_natures_harvest_gatefold_carolpaynestamps1

The greeting is from Nature's Harvest, stamped with Soft Succulent and cut with a Harvest die. I added a Harvest die cut of Soft Succulent behind it, along with a Gilded Gem.

Stampin_up_natures_harvest_gatefold_carolpaynestamps3

After stamping the cone flowers on Basic White and cutting out with a Layering Circle die,  I colored the cones with Bumblebee and Cajun Craze ink using a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. I squeezed the inkpad lid to the pad while it was closed to create a pool of ink in the lid, then dipped the tip of the Wink of Stella in the ink to color. I used the same technique to color the stems and leaves with Soft Succulent. The ink cleans off the tip of the brush with just a few swipes on my scratch paper! I adhered the flower circle to a slightly larger scalloped Soft Succulent circle, then adhered to the bottom cross-panel with dimensionals. A couple more Gilded Gems and the front was complete!

Stampin_up_natures_harvest_gatefold_carolpaynestamps5

Inside I used a sentiment from Elegantly Said, stamped in Soft Succulent, then breathed on the ink remaining on the coneflowers and stamped near the left corner.

Stampin_up_natures_harvest_gatefold_carolpaynestamps6

This card was very easy but very fun to create!

Stampin' Up! Nature's Harvest!

Hey there! Today I have a new card for you NOT created with Delicate Dahlias! Can you believe it? I've moved on to the Harvest Meadow Suite on pages 54-56 of the July-December Mini Catalog (aka Holiday catalog):

IMG_2686 (2)

I colored the cone flowers directly on the image before stamping with Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers. I have the list of supplies below. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the top of the flowers.

IMG_2688

I used a sentiment from Quiet Meadow, stamped with Early Espresso ink on Bumblebee card stock and cut with one of the Harvest Dies. I added loops of Linen Thread that I cut after adhering and then a bit of 3/8" Diamond Weave Ribbon tied in a knot. I finished it off with a few Gilded Gems.

IMG_2689

I used another sentiment from Quiet Meadow, then breathed on the remaining ink on the cone flowers image to get the faint look behind the sentiment. The designer paper is also from the Harvest Meadow Suite, called Harvest Meadow.

IMG_2690 (2)

Fall and Christmas cards are my jam! I'm liking this card more and more!

Stampin' Up! Misty Moonlight Double Time Spotlighted Delicate Dahlias!

Hey there! Today I have another Delicate Dahlias card to share with you! I know I need to move on to some of the other Sale-a-bration freebies, but I LOVE this set!

As you read in the title for today's post, I've created a Delicate Dahlia Double-Time Spotlighted card featuring Misty Moonlight and the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder:

Stampin_up_misty_moonlight_delicate_dahlias_carolpaynestamps4

Double-time is even easier than Triple-Time stamping! You cut your layers of Very Vanilla, adhere together with a tiny bit of adhesive, and then stamp! Don't worry if the images don't completely ink near the edges of the smaller layer, that will mostly be covered up by the Crumb Cake layer you add after you are finished stamping the spotlighting!

Stampin_up_misty_moonlight_delicate_dahlias_carolpaynestamps1

Take the two layers apart and add color to the two dahlias on the smaller layer using stamped-off Misty Moonlight ink.

Stampin_up_misty_moonlight_delicate_dahlias_carolpaynestamps2

Lay the two layers  back together and emboss inside the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. Take the layers apart and lightly add Crumb Cake all over the layers with a Blending Brush.

Stampin_up_misty_moonlight_delicate_dahlias_carolpaynestamps3

Adhere the bottom 5 1/4" x 4" stamped layer to the card front. Adhere the 2 3/4" x 4" top stamped layer to a 3" x 4 1/4" layer of Crumb Cake. Wrap Linen Thread around the top layers a few times and tie in a knot. Adhere to the card front so the flowers and leaves "match". Add Gilded Gems and a "hello" banner 1/2" x 1 1/4" snipped into banner points on one end with Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_misty_moonlight_delicate_dahlias_carolpaynestamps5

The blended Crumb Cake makes the embossing of the Timeworn Type folder pop!

Stampin_up_misty_moonlight_delicate_dahlias_carolpaynestamps6

I love adding the Gilded Gems!

Stampin_up_misty_moonlight_delicate_dahlias_carolpaynestamps7

Inside I stamped with another Delicate Dahlias sentiment and a few more Soft Succulent leaves. I made sure I blended a bit more Crumb Cake around the Very Vanilla edges for continuity with the card front.

Stampin' Up! Delicate Dahlias & Butterfly Brilliance!

Hey there! Today I have a special card I created for my friend Linda. Linda & I have been friends for over 15 years, ever since she came to one of my early Stamp Camps and then decided to join my team of Yes Mam! Stampers. Linda passed away a couple of weeks ago from complications following a routine surgery, so it was a shock for me as well as several members of my team who knew Linda from traveling with her to Stampin' Up! functions.

I created this card to give to her family as a token of my sympathy and love for my friend with Delicate Dahlias, a Sale-a-bration freebie, Butterfly Brilliance, and Shaded Summer stamps. Linda loved every butterfly stamp set that Stampin' Up! came out with! If I didn't know what kind of butterfly a stamp was, she could always tell me!

Stampin_up_delicate_dahlias_butterfly_brilliance_carolpaynestamps1

I created these cards by first stamping on a Basic White layer with the Butterfly Brilliance image, the Stamparatus, and Versamark ink. I then heat embossed the butterflies with clear powder. After the embossing cooled (a few seconds), I stamped over them with Delicate Dahlias images using Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, and Soft Succulent ink. After stamping, I then gently rubbed off the excess ink from the embossed images to make them "pop"!

Stampin_up_delicate_dahlias_butterfly_brilliance_carolpaynestamps5

The greeting is from Delicate Dahlias, cut with a Tasteful Label Die.

Stampin_up_delicate_dahlias_butterfly_brilliance_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I used a sentiment from Shaded Summer.

Stampin_up_delicate_dahlias_butterfly_brilliance_carolpaynestamps6

Delicate Dahlias is a Sale-a-bration set that you can only get with an order of at least $100. Shaded Summer coordinates with the Sale-a-bration Summer Shadows Dies, another freebie with a $100 order.

Stampin' Up! Celebrate Sunflowers!

Hey there! Today I have a card created with the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set  and the Stitched Greenery die that I'm crazy about! I needed another sympathy-type card, but I wanted it to be cheerful too, so I used Daffodil Delight card stock and In Good Taste Designer paper with the aforementioned Celebrate Sunflowers to create this:
Stampin_up_celebrate_sunflowers_carolpaynestajmps1
I started by cutting the sunflower and butterfly from the Daffodil Delight card stock layer, then embossing the  layer minus the sunflower and butterfly with the Stitched Greenery die. I then adhered the layer over a piece of In Good Taste Designer, then added the sunflower and butterfly back in their original spots with tiny dots of liquid glue.

Stampin_up_celebrate_sunflowers_carolpaynestajmps2

I forgot to stamp the greeting before embossing with the Stitched Greenery die, but stamping on this layer worked out fine anyway!

Stampin_up_celebrate_sunflowers_carolpaynestajmps3

I'm kind of obsessed with the Bumblebee Trinkets! They are the perfect finishing touch for this card!

Stampin_up_celebrate_sunflowers_carolpaynestajmps4

I stamped the sunflower on the inside layer and on the envelope. I added the "Hugs Prayers Love" sentiment from Positive Thoughts with Early Espresso ink.

I really enjoyed creating this card. If you want to create it too, here's the supplies to order:

Stampin' Up! Balmy Blue Butterfly Brilliance!

Hey there! Today I have another pair of sympathy cards to share with you, again made with the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle, but with a completely different color scheme. I used Basic White, Smoky Slate, Balmy Blue, and White Craft ink.

Stampin_up_butterfly_brilliance_balmy_blue_carolpaynestamps4

I created the background with one of the Basics Decorative Masks, Balmy Blue & White Craft ink, and Blending Brushes.

Stampin_up_butterfly_brilliance_balmy_blue_carolpaynestamps6

I stamped one of the Butterfly Brilliance butterflies on white with Balmy Blue ink, then cut with a Brilliant Wings die. I added more Balmy Blue ink to the edges with a Blending Brush. After adhering to the card front with a couple of glue dots I added three Elegant Faceted Gems.

Stampin_up_butterfly_brilliance_balmy_blue_carolpaynestamps7

The front sentiment is from Peaceful Moments.

Stampin_up_butterfly_brilliance_balmy_blue_carolpaynestamps9

I used White Craft ink with the mask first, then slightly moved the mask before adding the Balmy Blue.

Stampin_up_butterfly_brilliance_balmy_blue_carolpaynestamps

Inside I used another Peaceful Moments sentiment and flowers from Dragonfly Garden.

Stampin' Up! Blackberry Bliss Butterfly Brilliance!

Hey there! Today I have a couple of sympathy cards to share with you, created with the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle. Sympathy cards are not my favorite to make, but I really am happy with the finished result of these two very similar cards:

Stampin_up_brilliant_wings_quiet_meadow_carolpaynestamps3

I started by inking the Butterfly Brilliance stamp with Blackberry Bliss ink, then stamping once on scrap paper. I then breathed on the stamp to re-moisten the leftover ink and stamped on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Very Vanilla. I then stamped over the butterflies with stamped-off-once Crumb Cake and the words image from Quiet Meadow.

Stampin_up_brilliant_wings_quiet_meadow_carolpaynestamps1

I then cut the layer with a Scalloped Contours Die and then added Crumb Cake ink around the edges with a Blending Brush.

Stampin_up_brilliant_wings_quiet_meadow_carolpaynestamps2

Finished card front with a strip of Blackberry Bliss Regals 6" x 6" Designer paper behind and a Blackberry Bliss die cut with a Meadow Die.

Stampin_up_brilliant_wings_quiet_meadow_carolpaynestamps4

I cut out the "Thinking of You" with another Meadow die, Blending Brushed the edges, then mounted it over a piece of frayed 3/8" Fine Art ribbon.

Stampin_up_brilliant_wings_quiet_meadow_carolpaynestamps5

Inside I stamped the same butterfly image for it's third stamping without re-inking, and stamped-off the Crumb Cake words twice before stamping each time. The sentiment is also from Quiet Meadow.

Stampin_up_brilliant_wings_quiet_meadow_carolpaynestamps6

The second card is identical to the first, with the exception of adding Clear Wink of Stella to the largest butterfly. The moisture in the Wink of Stella changed the color of the butterfly just a little bit.

Stampin' Up! Happy Thoughts & Pretty Flowers!

Hey there! Today I have a pair of cards to share with you created with the retiring Happy Thoughts stamp set and the new Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder.

IMG_2194 (2)

After embossing Basic White with the Pretty Flowers folder I colored the raised images with Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, and Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends. I used the bullet end, not the brush tip, to color to have better control of how much ink flowed onto the paper.

IMG_2185 (2)

For this version I added a piece of Evening Evergreen designer paper, Evening Evergreen 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon, and a greeting stamped with Polished Pink ink.

IMG_2188 (2)

Inside:

IMG_2189 (2)

My second version is very similar, but I embossed Evening Evergreen card stock for the bottom front layer.

IMG_2196 (2)

I stamped the same greeting with Evening Evergreen ink and punched with the Double Oval punch.

IMG_2198

I embossed the envelope flap with the same Pretty Flowers folder.

Stampin' Up! Quiet Meadow!

Hey there! Quiet Meadow is perfect for collage-style stamping. I used this bundle of stamps and dies to create some "Thinking of You" cards to use for both a "get well" type card and a sympathy.

Stampin_up_quiet_meadow_sympathy_carolpaynestamps1

I used stamped-off once and sometimes twice Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Pear Pizzazz, and Blushing Bride for my collage-stamped background. After heat embossing the greeting with white powder I cut it out with a Meadow die. I added gold Metallic Pearls for more interest.

Stampin_up_quiet_meadow_sympathy_carolpaynestamps2

The majority of the Meadow dies are stand-alone, which means they don't coordinate with an image in the Quiet Meadow stamp set. I used one of them to cut Pear Pizzazz card stock to create the floral piece I glued over the floral image I stamped with full-strength Crumb Cake.

Stampin_up_quiet_meadow_sympathy_carolpaynestamps4

I tied Linen Thread into a double bow and added with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_quiet_meadow_sympathy_carolpaynestamps3

Everything on the inside is also from Quiet Meadow.
