Good morning! It's a Liam day today! Yay! Then this evening I'm off to help with the Hondura's Fundraiser!

I am demonstrating the Chalkboarding Technique tonight! Here are a couple of samples I've made, inspired by Becky Roberts.

This first sample uses the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, Easy Events stamp set, World Spectacular Designer Paper, and the Petite Pennants Builder Punch!

Chalkboard 1

This sample uses the Carry On Hostess stamp set from the Annual Catalog. All Hostess sets retire at the end of each catalog, so if you want this one you will need to have a party before May 31!

Stampin' Up! Dress Framelits and Puzzle Piece Resist!

Happy Monday Morning! It's a "Liam Day" today, so I will be out of here in a few minutes, but just wanted to show you this little gem from Technique Class Saturday!

Puzzle piece 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

It's a fun technique called "Puzzle Piece Resist"! It's usually achieved by clear embossing images on your cardstock, cutting out the "puzzle pieces", sponging one color on the outer frame, and sponging another color on the puzzle pieces. However, I decided to simplify the process by using the Naturals Compostion Specialty paper which is already clear embossed, then instead of sponging color I used a brayer! Easy Peasy!

Puzzle piece 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I used a greeting and verse from You Are Loved again. I'm really loving this set! I also miniaturized the Vanilla Flower Trim flower by heating it with my Heat Tool to shrink it!

Puzzle piece 4
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

While I was shrinking my flower I held it down with an old stylus so it wouldn't blow away!

Guess I'd better get going! Don't want to be late for Liam!

Don't forget, today is the LAST DAY to take advantage of the FREE SHIPPING!

Stampin' Up! You Are My Sunshine in Chalkboard!

Happy Friday! I'm so glad the weather here is starting to warm up a bit. We've even went a few days without any rain, which is a first for quite awhile!

We have been seeing the sun quite a bit more too, which prompted me to create this fun card for the technique side of my Punch/Technique Class this Saturday! (I still have plenty of room for you if you are thinking of coming!)

Sunshine 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

There has been a lot of chalkboarding going on in the Stampin' Up! world lately, so I decided it was time to try my hand at it! I combined the Sunshine single stamp (still available until July 31!) with the flourish from the Amazing Family stamp set. I made easy white lines with my White Gel Pen and a ruler. I'm always looking for ways to make stamping a project easier!

I continued with Amazing Family stamps on the inside, accenting with the same tiny scallop circle-punched flowers  and Basic Jewel Rhinestones used on the outside. The punch is from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

Sunshine 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

That's it for today! I will have another class sample to show you tomorrow!

Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!

P.S. Just wanted to remind you, if you have been planning to place an order through my Online Store, I would suggest you wait until Saturday when you can get FREE SHIPPING!

But, if you just can't wait or are worried about availability of the products in the retiring colors, then here's the link to my store:

Stampin' Up! Best of Flowers #1!

Good morning! Today is an exciting day for me! I get to go shopping ALL DAY with ALL of my daughters and my oldest granddaughter! I can't wait!

In addition to shopping, my youngest daughter, Alisa, (who is expecting my 6th grandchild, a boy! in July) will be starting her baby registry! I love it!

Since I have a few minutes before we leave, thought I would show you another of the cards we will be making tomorrow and Saturday at my "Best Of" Class!

I received a card with this general layout from Kathy Alt at last Saturday's Stampin' Up! St. Louis Regional, so I changed out the colors and designer paper, changed the greeting, added a technique and a Rhinestone, to make it my own!

Using the Best of Flowers stamp set, of course, I inked the miniature "Upsy Daisies" (Did you know that the re-issued stamps from the past are minatures of the originals? They are, which makes them perfect as an addition to the originals!) first in Wisteria Wonder ink, and then sponged on some Rich Razzleberry before stamping all together on the Whisper White!

I did the same inking technique on the "Oh Hello" stamp from the Oh Hello Stamp set. What do you think? After using this technique on the Tea Shoppe card HERE, I am having fun coming up with new ink color combos. Some colors don't look well together, and some, such as Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant, really look almost the same when used together, so some experimentation is fun!

Upsy daisy 1

It probably doesn't look like it in this photo, but the chevron oval is actually stamped in Basic Gray!

Here's my Wisteria Wonder-inked stamp being sponged with Rich Razzleberry ink!

Upsy daisy 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Same inking technique for the inside word from Amazing Family!

Upsy daisy 2

Here's a quick tutorial to make the Oval Punch Faux Bow:

Fold each punched oval gently and attach ends together with Glue Dots.

Attach both folded ovals to DSP strip with Glue Dots.

To finish off center of bow, add a small strip of designer paper, a button, or a punched out shape with a Glue Dot.

That's all I have time for today! See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!

Stampin' Up! Patterned Occasions Smarty Pants!

We had a really nice stamping time yesterday! There's just so many fun ideas for Sale-a-bration, I can't seem to find the time to share them all!

Today's card is with the free Sale-a-bration set, Patterned Occasions, accented  with a Parker's Patterns  Extra Large Tag pocket and a Hung Up Cute Clip:

Blue jeans 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

We used the "kissing" technique to achieve the jeans texture on the pants with the Netting Background stamp.

Blue jeans 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

The inside word is from Seasonal Sayings, a carryover set from the Holiday Catalog.

Here's a mini tutorial of how to "kiss" with stamps!

1. Ink stamp with a light color. Marina Mist used here. DO NOT stamp image.

Stampin' Up! Fine Feathers Gradient Color!

Good Morning! It's a great weekend to stamp, isn't it? Back in January I found a card with this technique, Gradient Color, in a crafting magazine and couldn't wait to give it a try. It was stamped with a feather stamp from another company, so when Leadership attendees were given a list of free stamps to choose from as part of the Make & Take gift, I was thrilled to see Fine Feathers on it!

Amazing 5
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

It's a pretty simple technique, requiring only stamps, ink, and paper! The beauty is in the stamping, pure Stampin' Up! at its' best!

Amazing 6
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I used the Occasions set, Amazing Family, for the greeting and inner phrase, and three Classic inkpads in Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, and Garden Green.

To stamp Gradient Color:

Ink stamp in lightest color, Tempting Turquoise for this sample.

Stamp 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Without stamping on cardstock, ink a portion of the same inked stamp on the next color, Island Indigo.

Stamp 2

Stamp cardstock.

Clean stamp on a Stampin' Scrub or a baby wipe before reinking stamp on lighter color again.

Stamp 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

To achieve the gradient color look, ink stamp again with Island Indigo first, then ink in Garden Green. stamp on cardstock and admire your Gradient Color look!

That's it! Just ask if you have any questions!

Stampin' Up!Technique: Spotlighting with the Swallowtail!

Happy Friday Stampers! Today I want to show you the second card for the Techniques part of my class tomorrow. This card uses the Swallowtail single "background" sized stamp and the butterfly punches to create the "spotlighting" effect:

Spotlighting 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

While the Spotlghting technique is not new, I have never seen anyone use a punch other than a cirlce or a square. Truth be told, this is a technique that I actually woke up thinking about a few weeks ago, so I'm very glad to have a chance to get this idea down on paper! I used the Elegant Butterfly and the Bitty Butterfly punches to achieve this effect.

Spotlighting 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I finished off the inside with the butterfly stamp in the Sale-a-bration set, Bloomin' Marvelous, and a phrase from You are Loved.

Seems my stamping lately has been dominated by Island Indigo, but I love this color! I'm definitely going to miss it when Stampin' Up! retires this color at the end of May.

That's all for today! See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!

Stampin' Up! Tea Shoppe Tea for Two!

Good Morning! I'm off to have a "Liam Day" today, but before I go I want to show you one of the three Technique cards we will  be making Saturday at my Punch/Technique Class!

I combined last year's Occasions Catalog favorite, Tea Shoppe stamp set with this year's Tea for Two Designer Paper, then added Delicate Details Lace Tape Masking, a technique Shelli Gardner demonstrated for us at Leadership:

Tea for two 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

You can see a hint of the lace tape masking on the card front, but it's much more evident on the inside, where I also used words from Blooming with Kindness, one of my favorite birthday phrases!

Tea for two 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Here's a quick overview of this technique:

Attach the lace tape to the cardstock "lightly", do not press it into the project so it will be easier to remove later. Sponge desired color over and around tape, filling in all the openings in the design of the tape. Crumb Cake was sponged on the Crumb Cake cardstock for this project.

Tea for two 6
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Finally, gently remove the tape to expose the lovely sponged design! This tape comes in two different designs in the package, so you have more variety. The tape is a type of tacky adhesive-backed plastic, so you can't really color ON it, but you can sponge over it, remove the tape, then re-use the tape on anther project (just be sure you wipe off any excess ink that may remain on the tape).

Tea for two 7
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

There are TWO more Technique projects coming up the next two days, so check back tomorrow and Friday!

Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin'Up! By the Tide Shaving Cream Shaker Card!

Happy Sunday morning! It's not a greatly happy morning for my sweetheart, he's taken a nasty cold, so in addition to his feeling quite "under the weather", I'm keeping my distance so hopefully I won't catch it!

My sample for you today was created by Raedean Shibata, a super-talented stamper in my monthly swap group! Raedean always has the most unusual, gorgeous cards, and this one lives up to her reputation!

She used the Shaving Cream Background Technique with the By the Tide stamp set from the Occasions catalog, then added a "shaker window" and added fun coordinating beads!

Stampin' Up! Just Thinking & Zoo Review!

Good Morning! Hope you are having a good day! I had my right eye surgery yesterday, and frankly, if the right one had been done first I would have been much more nervous about having the other one done! The left one only felt like two little pokes on my eye, but today's stung like you had snapped my eye with a rubber band! Ouch! It also took five zaps with the laser to get the hole 100% open, so that was a bit nerve wracking, but I held firm and got through it. The doctor is confident my glaucoma problems should be taken care of, and now that the "goo" is pretty clear from my eye, all is going well.

Enough about me, you came to see something pretty, didn't you? I hope you are not disapointed by this:

Sharon house
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Sharon House created this swap using the Just Thinking single stamp in the Occasions Catalog, free Sycamore Street Designer Paper, Window Frames Framelits, and a Basics Glimmer Brad!

My second sample to show you today was created by my dear friend, Ruth Bingle!

Ruth bingle
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Ruth used Zoo Review, one of the few Annual Catalog stamp sets I actually DO NOT OWN! Are you shocked? Now, I must admit that I am a stamp-a-holic, but many of my stamps were free to me from sales and promotions that Stampin' Up! offers. Add to this the fact that I've been a demonstrator for 10+ years and that adds up to alot of stamps! The "Best Wishes" is from Petite Pairs.

I actually emailed Ruth to ask her how she created the "zebra effect" for the long panel of this card. She reported that she started with a base of Basic Black, then free-hand cut an identical-sized piece of Whisper White into the pieces to create the zebra stripes! After she adhered the white to the black she ran it all through the Big Shot inside the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder! Easy Peasy!

Before I leave you today, here's a picture my daughter, Jessica, took of my 14-month-old grandson, Jaxon, and I yesterday at Steak n Shake before I had my eye procedure:

542600_10151344452821374_560807730_n
Jaxon & I have fun when we are together! Someday when he's a big, grown up guy, we will have to show him this picture! I LOVE him! I'm so blessed to be able to spend fun times with my grandchildren!

That's all for today (at least as far as I know!) I'm planning to spend my day planning and creating for my March parties and classes, so it should be a fun day! If you have any questions about anything, just call me, text me, Facebook me (Carol Payne Stamps on Facebook) or email me!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
