Stampin' Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop July Edition is Tomorrow!

Hey there!  Today I have a refresh of a card I featured earlier this year using the collage technique. You can view the original one HERE.

The En Francais background stamp used on the original retired, so when my hostess for this past Saturday asked to make this card I had to think a bit to find a replacement.

I believe I found perfection with Postage Due, stamped in Sahara Sand for the first layer of the collage stamping technique.

Stampin_up_postage_due_collage_1

After stamping the Postage Due, we followed with the tree from Thoughts & Prayers stamped in Always Artichoke, and blossoms from Flower Shop and Petitie Petals in Rich Razzleberry. We softly sponged color on the images with a soft, swirling motion instead of pouncing or dragging the sponge.

The greeting is from And Many More with a stamped-off Always Artichoke tree behind it, then punched with the Large Oval Punch.

We used the new Venetian Crochet Trim behind the Rich Razzleberry Scalloped Oval, then finished off with a Papillon Potpourri butterfly punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch.

Stampin_up_postage_due_collage_2

Inside we collage-stamped just like the outside, then added a sentiment from A Lovely Romance with Always Artichoke ink.

That's all for now! The Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop begins at midnight EDT, so all of our creations will be here in the morning!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin' Up! Perfect Peacock by Linda!

Hey there! Just a quick post this afternoon before I'm off to a stamp class in West Frankfort this evening!

I held my quarterly Yes Mam's downline meeting on Saturday. We had a shoebox swap, a yummy potluck lunch, and a class taught by Crystal Lopez on using the soon-coming Blendabiities alcohol markers from Stampin' Up! It was a blast!

I encourage my downline to bring projects they have been working on and sharing in their classes, and of course everyone is encouraged to bring their cameras to take pics of my displays and the projects their sister Mam's share.

Linda Reaney brought two cards she had created using the new Perfect Peacock stamp from the Annual Catalog. First, she stamped, colored with markers, then added a used dryer sheet with our Stampin' Glue Stick. Lastly she sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter:

Stampin_up_perfect_peacock_2

It's quite pretty, but it pales in comparison to her next creation:

Stampin_up_perfect_peacock_1

For this one Linda stamped, colored with markers, and then used the "Faux Diamond Dust" technique to give it the all-over sparkle! Gorgeous!

Here's a quick step-by-step for "Faux Diamond Dust":

1. Stamp image and color as needed.

2. Pat entire cardstock piece with an Embossing Buddy to completely dry the ink so it won't smear when you do Step #3.

3. Pat a Versamark inkpad all over image piece. Make sure you have the clear, sticky ink evenly all over the image and the surrounding cardstock.

4. Sprinkle all with Iridescent Ice Stampi' Emboss Powder. Tap excess back into container.

5. Heat with Heat Tool. Do not over-heat, as this will cause the Iridescent Ice to lose its' sparkle.

Linda did an excellent job coloring the peacock, and her choice of combining this image with the "Faux Diamond Dust" technique was pure genius!

That's all for now! You can purchase your Perfect Peacock stamp and all the supplies to do the Faux Diamond Dust technique from my Online Store:

Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects Pansies!

Hey there! It's Tuesday but it feels like a Monday, doesn't it?

Just a few more days before the new Stampin' Up! catalog kicks in. If you want to receive a new catalog from me but haven't ordered from me before, just contact me by email: [email protected]. Include your email and snail mail address. I will send you a Paypal invoice for the Priority Postage ($5.60). You don't have to have a Paypal account to pay from a Paypal invoice) After I receive payment I will put your catalog in the mail and you will have it within 2-3 business days, and I will also include a coupon for $6 off your first order!

While playing with ideas for custom embellishments I created this fun card:

Stampin_up_crystal_effects_pansies_1
Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper, Midnight Muse and Coastal Cabana cardstock all punched with the Pansy and Petite Petals Punches. Gumball Green leaves cut with the Secret Garden framelit (I'm really going to miss that die set, but I received the new Flower Fair Framelits while on the cruise so they will help me feel better! lol!)

The greeting is from Loving Thoughts,(which is retiring and sold out in clear-mount but still available in wood-mount)

Stampin_up_crystal_effects_pansies_4

After punching the flowers I adhered them to glue dot packaging strips with the glue dots still attached. The flowers would then be ready to attach after the Crystal Effects dried.

Stampin_up_crystal_effects_pansies_5

I covered each flower with a thin layer (or sometimes not so thin!) of Crystal Effects, then added pearls for my centers. I allowed them to lay flat overnight to dry completely before transferring to my project.

Stampin_up_crystal_effects_pansies_3

A background with Off the Grid (retired & sold out) and greeting from Delightful Dozen (also retired & sold out).

That's all for now. To order the Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper, Secret Garden Framelits, Loving Thoughts in wood-mount, and Midnight Muse ink before they are  gone on June 1st click HERE to shop in my Online Store or click on any of the images below in the supply list.

In case you just stopped by to look at cards, here's one of the swaps I created for the cruise using Regarding Dahlias:
Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_faux silk_1

This is the same swap, one created before I re-inked my pads and the other after. Whew! What a difference a few drops of ink can make!

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_faux_silk_2

It's not the easiest to see, but I used the "faux silk" technique on this card, inking the dahlia first with Daffodil Delight ink and then sponging Tangerine Tango ink around the edges. After I stamped on plain white tissue paper I wadded the tissue into a tight little ball, smoothed it out, then adhered it to a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I had covered with my Anywhere Glue Stick. After gently but not completely smoothing the tissue down I cut it out with a Floral Frames framelit. I then sponged the edges with more Tangerine Tango ink.

The greeting is from Gifts of Kindness, cut out with a Bitty Banner Framelit.

I think this is the first card I've shared with you in weeks that didn't have at least one retiring product used! Amazing!

Inside I used stamps from the new Work of Art set. Even the shape of the card has been cut with a Floral Frames Framelit!

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_faux_silk_3

More vividly inked version. (It goes without saying, this is the one I swapped!)

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_faux_silk_4

Lots of sponging going on. I was actually pretty happy I only had to make 9 of these. I swapped these with my Stampers Dozen Blog Hop friends!

Stampin' Up! My Friend!

Hey there! Busy day yesterday! I finalized intineraries for the Stampin' Up! cruise in May, Stampin' Up! Inspire, Create, Share 2014 in mid-July, and a family vacation, also in July, then took care of Jessica's kiddos while she & her hubby went on spur-of-the-moment date!

Here's the card I have for you today:

Stampin_up_my_friend_1 - Copy

A Midnight Muse card base, layered with Whisper White, then a layer of Midnight Muse Core'dinations embossed with the Beautifully Barouque Textured Impressions Folder and lightly sanded with the Stampin' Sanding Block for more design definition.

Stampin_up_my_friend_2 - Copy

I inked the foliage stamp from My Friend first with Coastal Cabana, then sponged MIdnight Muse over the leaves, gradually sponging less as I reached the outer ends. After spritzing with water, I stamped on Whisper White. I stamped "Celebrate Today" from  Perfectly Penned with Midnight Muse, adhered to a layer of Coastal Cabana, then adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For more dimension I added Crstal Effects to the outermost leaves, keeping the card flat for several minutes to allow it to dry. My final touch was a Midnight Muse In Color Dahlia.

Stampin_up_my_friend_3 - Copy
Inside is a RIOT of dimension! Three Whisper White lattices cut with the Lattice Die,  one attached to each side. The third is scored in the middle so the card will close. Leaves were cut with the Secret Garden Die, and flowers and butterflies were punched from Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper. Pearls and a phrase from Really Good Greetings are the finishing touch.

That's about it for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin'Up! Backyard Basics Faux Silk!

Hey there! I had a fun day today! One of my downline, Joyce, has started a second direct-selling business, Origami Owl, and she had her Open House to get started today. Fortunately  I had time to go, so I did! I had heard about Orgami Owl for awhile, but had never actually been to a party, so I was naturally curious. Pretty stuff!

I hope you will consider the card I have for you to be "pretty stuff":

Stampin_up_backyard_basics_1 - Copy

What do you think? I think it is "pretty stuff"! I stamped the iris from Backyard Basics on tissue paper, crumpled the paper into a ball, gently but not completely smoothed it back out, then adhered the tisuue to a layer of Whisper White cardstock with  a Stampin' Up! Glue Stick. I wrapped the tissue around to the back side of the cardstock and adhered with more Glue Stick.

Stampin_up_backyard_basics_1 - Copy - Copy

The result (although I must apologize for the blurry picture!) is a slightly creased and rumpled look, reminiscent of silk! I added strips of Rhinestones again. It's amazing how I have hoarded these for a long time, and now suddenly I've used them on two cards in a row! I added one single rhinestone to the center of the Vintage Faceted Button too!

Stampin_up_backyard_basics_2 - Copy

Inside I stamped the butterfly from the same set directly on the Whisper White layer, stamping off on scrap paper beforehand so it would have a lighter look. I did a "faux silk" butterfly by stamping on the tissue, crumpling, unfolding, glueing to cardstock, then cutting it out with the butterfly Backyard Basics framelit!

That's all for now. The supply list for today's creation is shown below. Clicking on any image will take you to my Online Store where you can shop and order!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin'Up! Baby We've Grown Goes Retro!

Hey there. Things are starting to thaw out around here, but I'm still sticking pretty close to home!

Today I have the final card in my "Baby We've Grown" series. This time I used the little owl family stamp, Retro Fresh Designer Paper, Label Collection Framelits, and the Painter's Tape Technique:

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_retro_1

I used the fun-fold technique for my card base. You can download the directions for the fun-fold by going to this post HERE.

This card fold always needs a slightly-larger than normal envelope, so I made my own with my Envelope Punch Board.

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_retro_2 - Copy

I took the colors for the Painter's Tape Technique from the Retro Fresh Designer Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango, and Coastal Cabana. I masked off the "baby we've grown" words below the owls with another piece of painter's tape, inked up the owls, then removed the tape before stamping them without the words. The "welcome baby" words are from Petite Pairs.

I added Tempting Turquoise and  Tangerine Tango Candy Dots to pull a bit more of the colors into the greeting. Candy Dots area MUST HAVE for your cards! They come in all four color families and there are 10 of each of the 10 colors in each family. At $5.95 for 100 total, they are a great value and add so much to a card!

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_retro_3 - Copy

On the backside I inked up just the baby owl and used the corresponding sentiment from Petite Pairs.

This is the last card in my "Baby, We've Grown" triad. I will be back tomorrow with the first of two lattice cards made with the Chevron Border Punch, so please stop by!

Stampin'Up! Another Vivid Vases Card!

Hey there! In case you are wondering, the "vases" in "Vivid Vases" is pronounced "vahhhses", (at least to my ear it is). What do you think? Is it "vaces" or "vahses"?

No matter how you pronounce it, this set is just so cute and versatile. One stamp, wood-mount only, but it lends itself so well to several fun techniques. Yesterday's technique was painter's tape, and today we have the ombre' technique with punches!

Stampin_up_vivid_vases_ombre_1

This card inspired by by Amy Koenders. The card base is Strawberry Slush, layered with Whisper White embossed with the Scallops Textured Impressions Folder.

The flowers and vases are heat embossed with white powder on Rose Red, Strawberry Slush, Blushing Bride, and Pink Pirouette, then punched with the 1" Circle Punch.

The greeting is from Four You, stamped with Strawberry Slush ink BEFORE the layer is embossed.

Rhinestones add the perfect touch of bling, don't you think?

Stampin_up_vivid_vases_ombre_2

The inside layer has another greeting from Four You stamped in Strawberry Slush, as well as the Vivid Vases at the bottom.

Each small flower has been punched with the 1/2" Circle Punch, then mounted over the stamped flowers with a Stampin' Dimensional.

That's all for today. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin' Up! Vivid Vases for Saturdays' Class!

Hey there! I've been having fun prepping for my Vivid Vases Class on Saturday - LOTS more fun than working on taxes, that's for sure!

The card I have for you today uses the Painter's Tape Technique and the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Folder(free from the Sale-a-bration brochure when you order $50):

Stampin_up_vivid_vases_painters_tape

This technique is quick, fun, and EASY! After stamping the Vivid Vases image with Jet Black StazOn ink, I applied Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Wisteria Wonder ink with the Painter's Tape. Both layers are cut out with Labels Framelit Dies. I added a 3/4" x 4 1/4" strip of Basic Black just so the label layers would have something to be anchored to. This card doesn't need any more embellishment to be pretty!

Stampin_up_vivid_vases_painters_tape_2

Inside I used the same painter's tape and inks under the sentiment from Perfect Pennants. Stamp a bit on the envelope and we are done!
