Stampin' Up! Paisleys & Posies For An October Class!

Hey there! If all goes as planned, I hope to hold a Paisleys & Posies class on Friday, October 14th at my house. Class attendees will pre-pay for the class so I can order the Paisleys & Posies Bundle and the Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Paper for each of them before class so they will have their own stamps to use during the session.

Today's card uses the Watercolor Resist technique:

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_watercolor_resist_carolpaynestamps1

The Paisleys & Posies images are embossed on Watercolor Paper with clear embossing powder, then washed over with Mint Macaron, Delightful Dijon, and Rich Razzleberry using an AquaPainter.

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_watercolor_resist_carolpaynestamps2

Rich Razzleberry ribbon from teh 3/8" Ribbon Trio Pack, a Delicate White Doily, snippets of Petals & Paisleys Specialty paper, and Copper Metallic Thread combine to create a pleasing hodgepodge of embellishment.

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_watercolor_resist_carolpaynestamps3

The emboss-resist technique combined with watercoloring with the AquaPainter is easy-peasy! I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere after watercoloring as the dampness of the paper warps it a bit.

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_watercolor_resist_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I used the same Watercolor Resist technique, but I stamped the sentiment with Night of Navy Classic ink instead of heat-embossing. This resulted in the ink blurring a bit, so I'm thinking I will need to work on an alternate inside for class.

Stampin! Up! Paisleys & Posies Emboss Resist CASE!

Hey there! While browsing the Holiday Catalog I found a sample on page 46 using Paisleys & Posies stamps I just had to CASE. In case you are not familiar with the term, CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything. Stampin' Up! puts loads of samples in all of their catalogs for the express purpose to inspire you and for you to copy, aka CASE!

Stampin_up_paisleys& posies_carolpaynestamps1

It was easy to make this card because Stampin' Up! listed all of the supplies used in the "You Can Make It" section right beside the sample! I made two versions. Can you see the subtle differences?

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_carolpaynestamps2

I switched out the Delightful Dijon ink for Crushed Curry, which is a little brighter and cheerier.

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_carolpaynestamps4

After heat-embossing the paisley and medallion images with clear powder on Shimmery White card stock, I used a Sponge Brayer to roll Crushed Curry ink, then used a second sponge brayer to roll on Rich Razzleberry. After I achieved the color intensity I wanted, I rubbed it with a Kleenex to remove the excess ink on the embossing that would never have dried.

Stampin_up_paisleys_&_posies_carolpaynestamps3

It was easy to finish this card with all of the sentiments and additional images in the Paisleys & Posies set!

Stampin' Up! Made With Love Big Shotless Card!

Hey there! I CASED today's card from pg 62 of the Annual Catalog. Created with Barnyard Babies, it was easy to substitute Made with Love!

Stampin_up_made_with_love_carolpaynestamps1

Starting with a Daffodil Delight card base, I added a Whisper White layer, then adhered panels each stamped with a different Made With Love image using Versamark. Panel colors are Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay, and Pool Party.

Stampin_up_made_with_love_carolpaynestamps2

Stamping with Versamark on solid-color cardstock is like having the entire palette of Stampin' Up! colors in one inkpad, giving a tone-on-tone look.

One stamp set, two ink pads, and one Classic Label Punch!

Stampin' Up! Mixed Borders!

Hey there! Today's card is another with the Bleach Technique. I love it when I'm playing with a technique and the ideas just keep rollin'!

For today's card I started by bleach stamping Soft Sky card stock with Touches of Texture stamps to get a Very Vanilla color. After the bleach finished developing and dried, I stamped the Definitely Dahlia Background with Versamark in the upper right corner.

Stampin_up_mixed_borders_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I used the new Mixed Borders to stamp the Very Vanilla greeting banner that I had punched with the Banner Triple Punch. I used Basic Black Archival ink for the leaves, then stamped the greeting with Pool Party. The Mixed Borders set leaves a space within the border so you can stamp the words in it! I tied a bit of new Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine around the banner in a knot.

Stampin_up_mixed_borders_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

Hopefully you can see the Versamark-stamped Definitely Dahlia better in this picture:

Stampin_up_mixed_borders_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

Inside I stamped the dahlia again with Pool Party and used a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to ink up just part of a stamp from One Big Meaning.

Stampin' Up! Touches of Texture!

Hey there! I didn't get a chance to stamp all weekend, can you believe it?

So here I am on Monday morning working on some projects due this week, the first being today's blog post! After playing  with bleach last week, I wanted to try different colors of card stock. Sweet Sugarplum, a new In Color, combined with Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White is super-duper!

Stampin_up_touches_of_texture_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I used the delicate spray of blooms from Touches of Texture,  "inking" with bleach. After letting the bleach develop, I stamped a few Touches of Texture dragonflies, with Sweet Sugarplum, embossing with the Brick Wall Folder.

Stampin_up_touches_of_texture_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

The bleach brought out a creamy white!

Simply pour a little bleach carefully onto a couple of folded paper towels on a plate, enough to wet the towels, but no puddles.

IMG_2839 - Copy

I white heat-embossed a phrase from Better Together on vellum,  cutting with the banner framelit in the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlets. I rolled up a couple of glue dots to hide behind the "J" in just and the "e" in note to adhere to the card front under the Sweet Sugar Plum 3/8" Ruched Ribbon.

Stampin_up_touches_of_texture_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

Inside I used a Greatest Greetings phrase and more dragonflies, lining the envelope with Playful Palette Designer Series Paper.

Stampin' Up! Wild About Flowers!

Hey there! I haven't used the bleach technique in a long time, so I decided to use it today! I combined Wild About Flowers with the Hardwood Background, stamping the flowers with bleach on a layer of Crumb Cake, allowing the bleach to do it's work and dry, then stamped over the layer with a "stamped-off" Soft Suede-inked Hardwood.

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

Every card stock has a "base color" that is revealed when it comes in contact with bleach. I put a few layers of paper towel on a glass plate, then poured a few drops of bleach onto the towel but not enough to puddle. I "inked" the stems and blooms with the bleach to stamp on Crumb Cake. The bleaching action  revealed a So Saffron base color.  After drying, I stamped over with the Hardwood Background and sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

I punched a 1" x 4 1/4" strip of So Saffron with the Triple Banner Punch, stamped the greeting, sponging the edges with Soft Suede. It's added to the card front with dimensionals and wrapped with a Linen Thread.

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

Inside is a continuation of stamping with Wild About Flowers and sponging with Soft Suede. I even sponged the eges of the Very Vanilla envelope for continuity.

Stampin' Up! Another Thank You Bokeh Technique!

Hey there! Whew! What a whirlwind the last 5 days have been, between taxes, a Birthday Card Buffet, and the free shipping promotion, I am exhausted. Tomorrow afternoon we are throwing a wedding shower for a girl from our church, and the list goes on for next week!

Today's card expresses how I've felt the past few days with the response I've received with the free shipping offer:

Stampin_up_another_thank_you_bokeh_technique
THANK YOU one & all! Everyone who placed an online order with me this week will receive a Thank You Project Packet in the mail soon!

This card uses the Bokeh Technique to achieve the look of light glinting and flaring in the background. Here's a quick rundown of how to do it:

1. Starting with a neutral cardstock, such as Very Vanilla or Whisper White, sponge color in random areas, overlapping the colors just a bit.

2. Punch or cut circles of varying sizes into a sheet of card stock or acetate (window sheet). The circles need to be different sizes and not punched in lines, they need to be punched randomly. You are creating a sponging stencil.

3. Lay the stencil over the sponged card stock. Sponge Whisper White Craft ink into the circle openings. Sponge some of the circles lighter and some darker. Move the stencil a little bit and repeat the sponging with White Craft ink. Continue to move and sponge until you like the effect.

4. Allow to air-dry or speed up the drying time with a Heat Tool.

5. Stamp over the Bokeh background with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

That's it! Click on this link to download the project sheet for this card:

Stampin' Up! Triple Time Embossing Technique!

Hey there! Oh my, wasn't the blog hop yesterday great? I loved all the projects, there was so much creativity! Loved the feathers, the banners, the cards, everything!

If you missed the October Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop, you can go back to yesterday's post HERE and start hoppin!

Today I have another card using the same Triple Time Embossing Technique I used on my blog hop card. For this creation I used the Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Folder and the Flower Shop and And Many More stamp sets:

Stampin_up_lovely_lace_triple_time_1 - Copy

I used Blackberry Bliss, Pear Pizzazz, and Very Vanilla for my color palette, cuttin out my greeting and banner mat with Bitty Banners Framelits.

I'm really diggin' the Seasonally Scattered stamp set, so I used the same "thanks" from yesterday's project on the inside for my sentiment, stamped in yummy Blackberry Bliss ink!

Stampin_up_lovely_lace_triple_time_2 - Copy

That's all for now! I have a class at the Benton Public Library this afternoon, but I'm ready so I will be working on samples for a class at the Wild Trillium today until it's time to get ready to leave!

Here's the supply list for today's project. You can click on any item listed below to find that product in my Online Store or just click HERE.

Stampin' Up! Painter's Tape and Wetlands!

Hey there! Liam's birthday party was last night with yummy food, good friends & family, fun presents for the birthday boy, cousins to play with, and an Oreo Blizzard ice cream cake! Perfect!

I mentioned Liam's card yesterday but I'm not sharing just yet. Today I'm working on Ava's card for her party on Monday. I will be sharing these soon.

On today's card we used the Painter's Tape Technique with the little shorebirdies  from Wetlands:

Stampin_up_wetlands_1 - Copy

I bought the Wetlands set because I love these little shorebirdies! They are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink after I used painter's tape to add the Night of Navy, Pool Party, and Crumb Cake ink to the Whisper White layer. I added the seagrass with Pear Pizzazz and the "Thinking of You" from Wetland with the Memento ink. The card seemed a little bit "flat", but after I added a single Crumb Cake Candy Dot, it all came together.

Stampin_up_wetlands_2 - Copy

Inside I used the same technique and same colors of ink but with a phrase from Thoughts and Prayers.

That's all for now. Here's the shopping list for today's card. Everything (except the painter's tape) can be ordered in my Online Store:

Come back to see me tomorrow for Sunday Swap Day! Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!
