Stampin'Up! Owl Punch Turkey!

Hey there! I had a request for a punch turkey for a party I'm doing later this week, so today I got busy and created these guys using the Owl Builder Punch and the Scallop Oval Punch:

Stampin_up_owl_punch_turkey1
I used the Owl Builder Punch for the turkey body and the Scallop Oval punch for the turkey tail. The greeting on the card is from the Truly Grateful stamp set.

Stampin_up_owl_punch_turkey6
I created this guy first, a table favor attached to a Hershey Nugget. Then I decided to turn him into a card so I stepped him up just a bit by embossing the "feathers" with the Perfect Polka Dot, Fancy Fan, and Houndstooth Textured Impressions Folders. The Crumb Cake layer behind the turkey is embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions folder.

Sweater Weather Designer Paper coordinated perfectly with the cardstock colors of Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry.

The Owl Builder Punch is SO versatile, I find I use some part of it on almost every punch project I use. I don't know how we got along without it before Stampin' Up! created it, and I hope we don't have to do without it for a long time!

Well, that's all for now. To order any of the products used for this project you can go to my website: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin' Up! Snow Day Froggie!

Ever since I mounted my Snow Day stamp set from the Holiday Catalog I've been thinking about how much the little face stamp looked like a froggie's face. I came home from Dawn's workshop tonight, sat down and made one! Lookie:

Snow day froggie 1

Isn't he just the cutest little guy?

Here's the flip side of the card, then I will show you how I made his little froggy face!

Snow day froggie 2

Up close:

Snow day froggie 3

His face and body are the Small Oval Punch. His legs are the Small Heart Punch, and his feet are from the Owl Builder Punch!

To make his little froggy face, first I stamped this face image from Snow Day on a scrap of Pistachio Pudding cardstock with Jet Black StazOn ink. Then I centered the eyes in two of the scallops of the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch like this before I punched it out:

Snow day froggie 4

Next, I put the stamped-and-scalloped part in the Small Oval Punch and punched again:

Snow day froggie 5
After punching this time I had to do a little bit of trimming around the edges of his cheeks with my Paper Snips, but that's all!

Here's my supply list:

Stamps: Snow Day, Yippee Skippee!, Wetlands, Postage Collection Hostess (happy birthday)

Cardstock: Coastal Cabana (my new FAV color!), Very Vanilla, Pistachio Pudding, Blushing Bride, Basic Black, Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper

Stampin' Up! What to Washi Week! Gingham Garden!

Good morning and happy Thursday! Liam is here today! In a different routine today, Liam's daddy dropped him off at my house with me for a few hours while he takes care of some things, then he is picking him back up and taking him home for the rest of the day. So I'm getting my "Liam fix" today! yay! I admit it, I'm crazy about him!

Today's card is one I CASED from a Convention Board sample I found online:

Gingham bitty butterfly 1

Gingham Garden Washi Tape on a Whisper White layer, attached to an Island Indigo card base. A greeting from Yippee Skippee, stamped in Melon Mambo, is accented by an Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack scallop flower in Daffodil Delight. The flower is finished off with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.

Bitty butterfly gingham 2

The Bitty Butterfly frame (Bitty Butterfly Punch is on sale in the Butterfly Bundle 15% off!)

Download the flyer here:

Download Flyer_ButterflyBundle_Demo_8.29-9.30.2013_US

was created in the same way as the Mosaic Punch ornament shown HERE. The Melon Mambo cardstock was punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch FIRST, then the Artisan Label was punched around it. I embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder before attaching it over the Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape with Stampin'Dimensionals.

Here's my inside:

Gingham bitty butterfly 3
More Gingham Garden Washi Tape, accented by the Bitty Butterfly punched out of the frame on the card front with a tiny Rhinestone Basic Jewel! The verse is from Remembering Your Birthday.

That's all for now! Hope you have a chance to create & play a bit today!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin'Up! Wishing You & Mosaic Punch!

Happy Saturday! Hope you have some fun things planned for this Labor Day weekend, and that you have designated some time to get your fingers inky!

Today's card is one I designed for Crystal's party last night. They are a fun group of girls! I used a card from the display boards at convention as my inspiration. I used the Wishing You stamp set from the Holiday Catalog with Season of Style Washi Tape, Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Folder, the Mosaic punch and the Artisan Label punch!

Mosaic Washi 1

Inside is stamped with more images from Wishing You. This set is perfect for your quick Christmas card-making! It has a gretting, an inside wish, and fun gift images that could be used for birthdays too!

Mosaic Washi 3

A close-up of the "ornaments" on the card front. I added a tied bow of Cherry Cobbler Bakers' Twine and one little Basic Jewel Rhinestone for some bling!

Mosaic Washi 2

This "ornament" was made by punching Old Olive cardstock with the Mosaic punch first, then punching the Artisan Label around the negative image.

Mosaic Washi 4

I attached the "ornaments" to the card front with snips of Stampin' Dimensionals:

Mosaic Washi 5

Stampin' Up! Wonderful Wreath Completed!

Good morning! Today is a special day! My baby boy, Ben, turns 21 today! Ahhhhhh!

Here's a recent picture of Ben:

Ben

I'm so proud of him. He has grown into a fine young man; loving, kind, thoughtful. He really thinks things through. He's working and going to school, and although he hasn't exactly found his job goal, he's still working on it!

Ben is #6 in my Payne Clan. Until Ben arrived, I always felt our family wasn't complete yet. At the dinner table, I would look around at my happy, crazy bunch of kids and I just knew we weren't all here yet. After Ben's birth, I knew I was done. He is just the icing on my cake!

Today's card you have seen before HERE, but I wanted to show you the completed card with the inside:

Wonderful wreath 1

Wonderful Wreath and Joy to the World stamps from the Holiday Catalog were used on the card front, with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions folder for depth. We will be using ovals from the Large Oval and Extra Large Oval punches and a Large Rhinestone Basic Jewel to create the bow. We will be using the Cupcake Builder Punch to punch the berries for the wreath!

Wonderful wreath 2
Inside I stamped a small image from Mosaic Madness, inked with a Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker in each corner. The verse is from another Holiday Catalog set, Christmas Messages.

That's all for now! I need to finish setting up for my Holiday Catalog Open House this afternoon!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin' Up! Blushing Bride Owl Anniversary!

Good morning and happy Tuesday! Today I have another version of the Owl Builder Punch Anniversary card I showed you HERE. I re-did the card with Blushing Bride as one of the accent colors by a request from my upcoming Friday Night hostess, Cindy!

Owl 1
Changes I made include:

Blushing Bride was used for the focal image matting layer, the owl's vest & hair bow, and the heart on the Teeny Tiny Wishes' "happy anniversary" greeting.

The color combo was changed to Basic Black, Whisper White, and Blushing Bride with a splash of Strawberry Slush 3/8" Stretch Ruffled Ribbon for a little extra "pop"!

The new Pretty Print Textured Impressions Folder was used on the bottom layer instead of the Striped folder.

Owl 2
Inside I used a phrase and image from the new This Day Forward set on page 113 of the Annual Catalog. The image is interesting. I think it is  a butterfly, but makes a very pretty flourish too, don't you think?

That's all for now. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin' Up! Birthday Basics Balloons!

Hello there! Late posting today. I'm at Jessica's house getting ready to take Ava, Cohen, and Jaxon back to my house for the day. Jessica has photo sessions all day, so I am taking them to my house to play with Liam! (Liam is at my house with Logan, Ben, & PaPa right now)

Today's card is another from my SWOW class this Saturday. As you know, I LOVE punch art, so when I found this punch art balloon several places on the net, I just had to design a card using them!

Balloons 1

I heat embossed the "Happy Birthday" from You're Amazing with white powder, then dry embossed the Bermuda Bay layer with the Perfect Polka Dots folder and the Big Shot.

The balloons were created with an Medium Oval punched piece of cardstock with one of the feet from the Owl Builder punch attached to the bottom! Pretty neat!

Island Indigo Baker's Twine was attached to the back of each balloon with a Glue Dot. After attaching the balloons to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals, I gathered the twine together and attached them to the card front with another dimensional. I then hid all the mess with a strip of Birthday Basics Designer Paper, which is where I found the color palette for this card!

Balloons 2

Inside I stamped one of the phrases from the new Remembering Your Birthday, omitting the words I needed to with Stampin' Write Markers and positioning the {YOU!} where I wanted it with my Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Balloons 3
I sponged each of the Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, and Soft Sky balloons with the corresponding ink color, sponging more ink onto the left side of each balloon to give it some depth, then used the new Chalk Marker from the Holiday Catalog on the right side to give the look of light and reflection!

That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin'Up! Liam's First Birthday Dragon!

Hello! Big party last night for Liam's first birthday! It's hard to believe he's one already! Time sure does fly, especially when it's a little one's first year!

Here's a few shots from his big day:

Liam 2

He started seriously pursuing walking the night Cousin Oakley was born:

Liam 1

His Dragon Cake! Ever since Liam was a little guy his theme has been castles, knights, and dragons! This cake was a collaboration between his mommy and daddy.

He needed a little help from both parents to blow out his candles!

Licking the icing off the cupcake is the best part!

All six cousins in age order:

We told Maddie Kate to "settle down" she was being so rowdy! lol!

Whenever Jaxon sees me with Liam he wants up in my arms too! Of course that really makes me mad. NOT!!!!

Me & my boys

Finally, Liam's birthday card. Of course I had to create my own version of the dragon/dinosaur card that's been around the net for awhile:

Liams dragon 1

Stamps: Yippee-Skippee

Cardstock: Pacific Point, Gumball Green, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Basic Black

Ink: Jet Black StazOn

Big Shot, Beautiful Brocade Textured Impressions Folder

Punches: 2 1/2" Circle, Extra Large Oval, Large Oval, Bird Builder, 3/4" Circle, 1/2" Circle, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (scallop circle)

Some of the elements of this creation were determined by what was available on my craft table. Jaxon was taking a nap in my supplies room, so this card became a "limited supplies challenge"!

That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin Up! Gifts of Kindness Swap!

Good morning! It's Friday! Oakley's due date! I have a fun little card for you today, a fun-fold actually, similar in dimensions to my card HERE.

Gifts of kindness

The Gifts of Kindess, Papillon Potpourri, and Oh, Hello stamp sets were used, along with the Gingham standard wheel. Cardstock of Real Red & Whisper White pair to create a fun, crisp look! Ink of Real Red & Old Olive, and the Scallop Trim Border Punch all finish off this card spectacularly!

Well, today should be my SWOW class and Christmas Card classes for July. Looking forward to stamping with everyone!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
