Stampin' Up! Handsomely Suited for Troy Sneak Peek!

Hey there! I decided to use the Well Suited Suite of products from the Spring 2021 Catalog for my son Troy's birthday card too. The Handsomely Suited stamp set actually has four different tie images, so it was easy to make another card with a similar layout:

IMG_1220 (2)

I created my own background by repeatedly stamping the "you're the best" phrase from the Handsomely Suited stamp set.  This print from the Well Suited Designer Series Paper is so cherry on it's own, but it was made even better by stamping it with the polka-dot tie image and then cut with a Suit & Tie die!

IMG_1223

The inside sentiment is also from Handsomely Suited.

Stampin' Up! Handsomely Suited Sneak Peek!

Hey there! I have two sons with November birthdays and this year we celebrated them at our family's Thanksgiving. I had just received the Well Suited Bundle from the upcoming Spring 2021 Catalog, so I pulled it out and played! This suite, while geared for creating masculine cards,  has a lot of possibilities that are not just for men!

Today, however, I'm sharing Logan's card created with the Handsomely Suited stamp set, Suite & Tie Dies (Bundle), and Well Suited Designer Series Paper:

IMG_1215 (2)

I stamped the bow ties directly on prints from the Well Suited Designer Series Paper and then cut them out with the corresponding Suite & Tie Die.

IMG_1217

When stamped with Tuxedo Black in on the Whisper White inside layer, I definitely see a pink "hair bow" in this stamps future! The sentiment is included in the Handsomely Suited stamp set.

Stampin' Up! The Man, The Myth, The Legend!

The man the myth the legend

Hey there! It's time for the June edition of the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop, THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND.

My card  today was created with  my husband in mind, but was also inspired by a comment one of my Yes Mam! Stampers made about my Tasteful Touches Emboss Resist card I posted HERE. She said it looked like the Milky Way, which inspired me to create a "Milky Way" card for my husband who loves astronomy:

Stampin_up_hippo_happines_carolpaynestamps1

I used two sparkle images from two different stamp sets, Hippo Happiness and Pattern Play, to silver emboss the stars, then sponged white craft ink in a diagonal swath to create the "Milky Way"!

Stampin_up_hippo_happiness_carolpaynestamps4

I used a sentiment from Sailing Home on the front:

Stampin_up_hippo_happiness_carolpaynestamps5

And a sentiment from Many Mates inside.

Papercrafting Blog Hop Thinking of You Guys!

80233386_2500721953548607_3735354368958922752_o

Hey there! I've joined another blog hop! I'll be hopping with the Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop on the 20th of every month! Our theme for May is "Thinking of You Guys", and I'm excited to see everyone's projects!

I created my project with New Annual Products that demonstrators are allowed to pre-order, the Tasteful Touches Bundle, which is part of the In Good Taste Suite. I also used one of my favorite techniques, Triple Time!

Stampin_up_tasteful_touches_triple_time_carolpaynestamps1

I used a masculine/neutral color combo of Night of Navy, Gray Granite, and Whisper White with some sponging using a sponge dauber. I also used the twine from the Flowers For All Seasons Ribbon combo pack and the Misty Moonlight dots from the 2020-2022 In-Color Enamel Dots.

Stampin_up_tasteful_touches_triple_time_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I used a sentiment from another new catalog sneak peek, Lovely You.

Now it's time to move on to the next blog on the hop!

Stampin' Up! Country Club to the Rescue!

Hey there! Today I have another card created with the I Say Hello/Country Club Designer Series Paper combo. I wanted to use another one of the prints from the piece that has a total of 12 focal images, and this time I wanted to color it for you!

Stampin_up_country_club_hello_carolpaynestamps1

I chose the picture that was the least golf-related, then colored it with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers!

Country Club 2

I colored the trees with a Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends, the trunks with a Light Soft Suede, the grass with a Dark Soft Sea Foam, the water with a Light Seaside Spray, and the sky with a Dark Seaside Spray.  You really can't tell in this picture, but I added Clear Wink of Stella to the water to give it some watery shimmer!

Stampin_up_country_club_hello_carolpaynestamps4

After mounting the focal image on a Basic Black mat, I adhered it to the card base that I had layered with this very masculine Basic Gray, Basic Black, and Smoky Slate plaid. I cut a 1/4" x 5 1/2" strip of Basic Black for a "ribbon, then added a 1/2" circle of Silver Foil embossed with the retiring Button Button Embossing Folder. I thought this "button" looked like a golf ball!

Stampin_up_country_club_hello_carolpaynestamps5

I kept the inside minimal and basic with a sentiment from I Say Hello.

Stampin' Up! Sunburst Sailing Home!

Hey there! Today I have a set of Sunburst technique cards created with the Sailing Home Bundle and Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper! I'm playing with my designer papers before they go on the Retiring List next week!

Stampin_up_sailing_home_carolpaynestamps1

I used heat-embossing with white powder to create the greeting for this one that I also punched with the Tailored Tag Punch. I stamped the entire sentiment, "Let HOPE be your anchor through the storms of life" with Night of Navy ink on a scrap of white, then used Paper Snips to cut out the single word, HOPE.

Stampin_up_sailing_home_carolpaynestamps3

I used the entire sentiment inside:

Stampin_up_sailing_home_carolpaynestamps5

For my second sunburst Sailing Home card I used a top fold and a combo of heat-embossing first, then stamping over the embossing with the Night of Navy sailboat.

Stampin_up_sailing_home_carolpaynestamps6

I also used the "motion stamping" technique - stamping the sailboat multiple times without re-inking to get the look of movement. (I stamped from right to left)

Stampin_up_sailing_home_carolpaynestamps8

For my final card I turned the card landscape, then heat-embossed the lighthouse from Sailing Home before cutting with a Smooth Sailing die.

Stampin_up_sailing_home_carolpaynestamps9

I used the lighthouse inside the card too. I love it!

The Come Sail Away Designer Paper will most likely be on the Retiring List that comes out on April 22nd, so don't wait! Order a package today!

Stampin' Up! Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop, June Edition, Celebrating the Men in Our Lives!

1800397_10152216696440070_2004070056_n
Hey there! The Stamper's Dozen Blog Hoppers are celebrating the men in our lives! I have one husband, three sons, three sons-in-law, and five grandsons, so I have lots to celebrate!

I have the One Wild Ride set, so I decided to make a pair of easel cards; a Father's Day, and a birthday card:

Stampin_up_one_wild_ride_carolpaynestamps1

I decided to go "old school": no Big Shot or embossing; just stamping and punches. I fussy-cut the motorcycle after stamping with Basic Black Archival ink on a Silver Foil Sheet. Since we no longer have StazOn ink, using Basic Black on something as non-porous as Silver Foil only requires a bit of heating, mostly blowing, with a Heat Tool to dry. I layered onto Basic Black card stock, then fussy-cut again before adhering with dimensionals.

Stampin_up_one_wild_ride_carolpaynestamps2

I used the Classic Label punch on the Teeny Tiny Wishes greeting, and fussy-cut the "Route 66" sign.

Stampin_up_one_wild_ride_carolpaynestamps4

I used the Best Badge to create the "easel stop". I added  silver Metallic Enamel Shapes for  a bit of sparkle.

Stampin_up_one_wild_ride_carolpaynestamps5

I stamped the inside with One Wild Ride images:

Stampin_up_one_wild_ride_carolpaynestamps6

I turned the easel on its' side for the birthday card:

Stampin_up_one_wild_ride_carolpaynestamps7

I combined Best Badge and Classic Label punches for the greeting:

Stampin_up_one_wild_ride_carolpaynestamps8

I punched the "Route 66" signs with the 3/4" Circle punch and matted with a Basic Black 1" Circle.

Stampin_up_one_wild_ride_carolpaynestamps9

Inside I stamped-off a Smoky Slate motorcycle behind a Basic Black Special Celebrations sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Nailed It Carpenter's Apron!

Hey there! First for today, I have the 3rd Nailed It card for the "Guys & Gals" card class, a carpenter's apron!

Stampin_up_nailed_it_apron_carolpaynestamps4

I used Dapper Denim, Silver Foil, and Real Red for a manly, almost-patriotic look!

Stampin_up_nailed_it_apron_carolpaynestamps1

A White Chalk Marker made the faux stitching, but the pockets are real!

Stampin_up_nailed_it_apron_carolpaynestamps2

The front greeting is from Nailed It, and the inside sentiments are from Urban District.

Stampin_up_nailed_it_apron_carolpaynestamps3

The second card was made by one of my Yes Mam! Stampers, Janice Felty. I used her Perfect Mix baker's apron as my template for the carpenter's apron!

Stampin_up_perfect_mix_apron_carolpaynestamps1

Janice used Succulent Garden Designer Paper for her apron background, filling the pocket with lots of lovely baking tools, all hand-cut with Paper Snips Scissors!

Stampin' Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! After church today we are going to the Fowler Reunion! We haven't been for several years, and although we already see some of the people who will be there today quite often, there will be several we do not. This is my husband's father's side of the family. How often do you go to family reunions?

For my Sunday Swap Day share today I'm starting off with a card I've been saving until I was ready to do my "Guys & Gals" class with the Nailed It Bundle.

I don't have a name attached to this card, but I like the pairing of the Hardwood Background with the Nailed It tools cut with the Build It framelits.

Stampin_up_nailed_it_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Ruth Bingle combined the Weather Together stamp set, Umbrella Weather framelits, and Sending Love Designer Paper for a bright and cheery card.  Weather Together and Umbrella Weather framelits will be carrying-over to the next catalog, but they will no longer be bundled. If you want them, you need to order them before May 31st so you can save 10%!

Stampin_up_weather_together_carolpaynestamps1

Finally, Joanne Cantrell created her swap with the carrying-over set, Glamper Greetings. Joanne's family loves to camp, so this card was appropriate for her to make! I love those adorable little flamingos stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink!

Stampinupglampergreetingscarolpaynestamps1

My parent's & I traveled all the way to Yellowstone National Park one summer in a camper just about this size!

Stampin' Up! My Hero!

Hey there! I have a short post this morning, but I will have another at 4 p.m. today when the Mediterranean Achiever's Blog Hop starts hopping! Our theme this month is the Limited Edition set, Thoughtful Branches!

Right now I have a super easy card created for a hostess who asked for cards without the Big Shot. Most of my cards use something Big Shot - an embossing folder, or a greeting cut with a framelit - but I went "old school"to make card with the My Hero Ronald McDonald House set:

Stampin_up_my_hero_carolpaynestamps1

My Hero is a collection of cute stamps for several holidays of the year, and Stampin' Up! will donate $3 from each one sold to the Ronald McDonald House Charities! I used Dapper Denim, Whisper White, and Silver Glimmer paper for sparkle. The Dapper Denim striped paper from the 2016-2018 In Color Designer Paper Stack coordinates perfectly.

I punched the "You Are My #1 HERO" with the Best Badge Punch.

My camera is an older point-and-shoot, and I think I've about worn it out. This is the only picture I have of this card!

Please do come back this afternoon or tomorrow and take the hop!

Until then, use this supply list to shop in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net
