Stampin' Up! Alphabet Press Monkey for Jaxon!

Hey there! Tonight was Jaxon's 2nd birthday party and he probably had the best birthday a little guy could have!

He had "Mickey" ears to wear with his brother and cousins! Mickey Mouse is his favorite right now, so his party was "Mickey" themed.

l to r: Oakley 5 1/2 months, Liam almost 17 months, Jaxon age 2, and Cohen almost 6!

Jaxons 2nd birthday 1

The "paw paw's" were watching over the proceedings:

Jaxons 2nd birthday 4

He LOVED all of his gifts, oooing and ahhhhing over each one, not even caring to open the next one, he just loved each one so much!

Jaxons 2nd birthday 7

All the Payne grands:

l to r: Oakley, Cohen, Maddie Kate, Jaxon, Liam, and Ava!

The Birthday Boy:

With his family.

l to r: Maddie Kate, Ava, Jaxon, Jessica, Cohen, Johnny

Jaxons 2nd birthday 11

Blowing out the candles on his Mickey cake was serious business. He took reeaally big breaths!

Jaxons 2nd birthday 12

When both candles were blown out, it was time to cheer!

Jaxons 2nd birthday 13

Happy Birthday, Jaxon! You are my favorite little 2 year-old!

Here's the card and package tag I made for him (besides Mickey, Jaxon really loves monkeys)

Stampin_up_alphabet_press_1

All created with punches, I used the 2 1/2" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle, 3/4" Circle, 1/2" Circle, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack circle, Large Oval, Modern Label, and the Bird Builder Punch. The greeting is from From the Heart.

Stampin_up_really_good_greetings_1

Inside I stamped the "finally a day that really is all about you!" from Really Good Greetings in Real Red on the Crumb Cake layer. This phrase is especially appropriate for Jaxon since his birthday date is December 26, a date for a birthday that may seem overshadowed by the holiday festivities every year.

Stampin_up_apothecary_art_1

Inside the monkey tag I punched the same "happy birthday" with the Decorative label punch.

Well, that's all for now. Just ONE more day left of 2013, then we are off to the adventures 2014 will bring! yay!

Just three days left to order from the Holiday Catalog too! Go to my online store:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

to get your order in before it's gone!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Oh, and have a Happy, Safe, and Healthy New Year too!

Merry Christmas!

Hey there! Merry Christmas! We have been having a blast at our house since Christmas Eve eve when everyone arrived to spend the next three nights! It's already Christmas, but I wanted to share with you a Christmas tradition that has been growing at our house for several years:

Payne family snowmen family 1

It's our family, created in miniature with Sculpey Clay, by my daughter Alisa! She started creating these teeny-tiny little Payne Clan snowpeople several years ago, adding more little ones as our family grows.

She started with Mark & I:

Payne family mark and carol

Then Jessica, Johnny, Maddie Kate, Ava, Cohen, and Jaxon:

Payne family hollis

Kimberly, Tony, and Liam:

Payne family kimmy tony liam (I have absolutely NO IDEA how their picture ended up so tiny, sorry!)

Troy, Logan, and Ben:

Payne family troy logan ben

and finally, Alisa, Cody, and Oakley:

Payne family hillers

None of these are much more than an inch tall, so they are all little masterpieces! Alisa carefully packs them away in a paper egg carton each year so they don't get lost or mangled.

As time goes on and the boys get married, she will make little snowwomen for their wives and more little snowbabies.

I love when they come out each year and miss them when they go away.

Well, the gifts are all under the tree and the stockings are filled, so I'd better head to bed too.

Have a Merry Christmas. Hope your day Stampingrox!

Stampin' Up! Field Flowers Card Box!

It's Saturday and we've had one good night home from the hospital. Alisa & Cody are exhausted from the ordeal of worry and care for Oakley. We are hoping they will get caught up on their rest just a little bit (but who really rests with a newborn?) Lots of napping going on around here!

Here's Alisa & Oakley before they left the Cardinal Glennon NICU:

Oakley in nicu

Oakley's next blood test and doctor's appointment is scheduled for Monday. Please pray his numbers stay down and they can settle into a normal new-baby routine.

I thought I would try to show you a new swap today. I have swaps from the two organized swaps I participated in at convention, but haven't had any time to take pictures of them yet. My downline and friends swapped them for me.

Today's swap is from the second monthly swap I joined recently. This is from the June swap. I did not get to participate in the July swap because of all the Oakley excitement.

This swap is a "card box" created with the Field Flowers set and Pink Pirouette cardstock:

Field flowers box 2

The greeting is from the Hostess set, Banner Greetings.

Field flowers box 1
Not a particularly mail-able card, but a candybar would fit in here nicely, don't you think?

That's all for now. Tomorrow is Sunday Swap Day. I know I've almost only shown you swaps this month, but I hope you can forgive me for that since we've had so much going on. I hope to get back to creating next week if all continues to go well with Oakley.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Home Again!

I'll bet some of you who check my blog daily have been wondering what happened to me. This past Tuesday Oakley was taken by ambulance to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St Louis to be treated for a high jaundice count, 23.5. He was put under the blue lights and given IV fluids to help his little body to process the excess bilirubin.

Oakley
He has made a swift recovery with no adverse effects. We returned home today with apts for follow-up blood tests and doctor appointment on Monday. We have to be extra careful for the next several days to make sure his fluid intake is ample so he can continue to  keep his levels down, but otherwise he is a perfectly normal little fellow.

They really have no explanation for what caused this to happen, but we are just thankful we caught it in time before the count went any higher.

That's all for now. We are all exhausted.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Baby Oakley Has Arrived!

I am VERY HAPPY to announce the arrival of baby Oakely Dentyn Hiller!

Tuesday, July 16th, 8:55 p.m.

7 lbs. 14 oz.

21 3/4" long!

LOTS of dark hair!

Mother & baby are doing great! Tired, but great!

Here he is!

Oakley 1

He's wearing the onesie his mommy created for him to announce her pregnancy on Christmas Eve last year. "Swody" is a blend of our family name for her, "Sweed", and his daddy's name, Cody!

That strange thing attached to Oakley's ankle is the hospital security device. If someone were to try to leave the hospital with this attached to a baby, all the doors and elevators would lock and shut down!

Here's all the "Mark & Carol Payne Grandkids" as of today:

Payne grandkids 1
l to r: Ava Claire, Liam Percival, Maddie Kate, Oakley Dentyn, Jaxon William, and Johnny Mark Cohen!

I am SO BLESSED!!!!!

I'm tired too, as I spent all of yesterday at the hospital, but it's a happy tired!

Not much else to report, this is my world right now!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

NSR: Baby Oakley is On His Way!

Quick post! Just wanted to let you know that Baby Oakley is on his way! They went into the hospital at 9 last night to get things started!

The original plan was for me to wait until this morning to go in, but since it's a new hospital (and I needed to see my baby girl!) Mark & I went in for a little while last night!

Here's the Mommy & Daddy, waiting for their little fellow to arrive:

Waiting

So now it's almost 6 a.m. and Jessica is on her way to pick me up and we are going in together. Jessica is the official birth photographer and I just get to be there! Yay!

Pray for a safe delivery and a healthy little baby boy!

My day ALREADY Stampingrox!

Stampin' Up! Label Love & Soho Subway for Maddie Kate!

Good morning! Just wanted to show you quickly a few pics from Maddie Kate's birthday party last night and the card I made for her!

All products are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

First, the birthday girl!

Birthday girl

And of course she had to blow out the candles! Her mom made the cake, which she always does for birthdays. This year instead of "happy birthday" like usual, she wrote "She has the sophistication of a woman of TWELVE", a favorite quote from the movie "Little Rascals"!

Candles

And here's the card I made for her! I didn't want to post this until after she received it. Who wants a card everyone has seen before you do?

Label love for maddie kate 1
Very Vanilla, Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, and Island Indigo coordinate perfectly as the listed colors in the new Soho Subway designer paper coming in the NEW Catalog in just a little over a week!

The Label Love birthday greeting was punched with the Artisan Label punch, then layered on two more punched labels for the mat. They are attached to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Label love for maddie kate 2
I used an Window Sheet technique I learned in Fiji to attach the Big Shot Typeset Alphabet letters for her name on the inside when she opened the card!

Label love for maddie kate 3
For the third dimension of this card I stamped the cake from Make a Wish (in the Occasions catalog now but IS carrying over into the new catalog!) once in Baked Brown Sugar, once in Island Indigo, once in Crisp Cantaloupe on Very Vanilla scraps, then once in Crisp Cantaloupe on the Very Vanilla card layer. I fussy-cut out the individual cake layers with my Paper Snips, then attached them with a Stampin' Dimensional under each layer.

My final touch is just a teeny-tiny bit of Clear Dazzling Details on the candle flames! LOVE it!

Oh, and the "CELEBRATE" is from Seasonal Sayings, and the "you mean SO much to SO many people" is from One in a Million!

That's all for now! Maddie Kate's little sister, Ava Claire, spent the night with me while Maddie had 5 of her girlfriends spend the night, and today we  are going to have mani's and pedi's, and who knows what else we will do? We watched a couple of stamping videos before Ava went to sleep (Ava is a girl after her Grammie's own heart, she LOVES to stamp too!), so we may do a little stamping too!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Happy Birthday, Maddie Kate!

NSR warning: This post will contain no stamping. NONE. Move on to my next post if you are not interested in hearing me rave about my oldest granddaughter, Maddie Kate!

581934_10151472336896374_886754104_n
Maddie Kate turns 12 today, which is also the anniversary of my becoming a grammie!

Maddie is beautiful, inside & out. She loves the Lord and her family. It never occurs to her to be disloyal to her sister or brothers. She often prefers to spend time with us rather than go do things with her friends.

She can be goofy:                                            She can be cute:

Mk 2                        Mk

She sings:

All of the kings are only pretenders

She loves sports & tumbling and just a few weeks ago earned a spot on her 7th grade Cheerleading squad for the 2013-2014 school year.

She also loves to bake. She finds recipes to try on Pinterest. Often I will find her in the kitchen baking up something yummy!

She is organized and always ready for the next event.

She always has a hug for me and her grandpa.

Maddie 1

When Maddie was in kindergarten we started the tradition of making her valentines together. This tradtion continues and now includes her sister, Ava, and brother, Cohen. In a few years we will be making valentines for Jaxon, Liam, and Oakley!

In 2011 she chose to spend the weekend with me attending a family wedding in Tennessee rather than spend the night with a friend. She told her mom, "I can spend the night with my friends anytime, but how often will I get to go to a wedding with my grammie?"

This year she asked to go shopping with us during Spring Break!

Chickfila

I am so thankful and honored to be her grammie. God has blessed me with 5 grandchildren so far, soon to be six. It's amazing how the love in my heart for them just keeps multiplying!

Proverbs 17:6 says, "Children's children are a crown to the aged, . . ." I guess that puts me in the "aged" category, but I don't mind. I'm blessed to be able to see my grandchildren often and to be able to participate in their lives.

We are going to Maddie Kate's family birthday party tonight. A couple of years ago her mom, Jessica, decided to stop having a family party for her and just have a friend party, but this year Maddie requested a family party again. She's truly a special girl!

So happy birthday, Maddie Kate. Your grammie loves you with all her heart!

Stampin' Up! Dolled Up Birthday Kit and Mother's Day Family Time!

Good morning! I had a FABULOUS day yesterday! My day started with church, which is not unusual for me on Sunday at all, but what made it even more special is my daughter, Kimberly, was asked to speak during the service. She spoke about God's timing being so much better than our timing. I was very blessed by her comments. Then after church we all went to Cracker Barrel for lunch, which of course was a madhouse, but the food was good, as usual, and I love it when we all go together "en masse"!There were 15 of us today. We were minus Logan because he is still in Rolla for his finals week coming up, then he will be home for two weeks before the summer semester. If all goes as planned he will be graduating NEXT May!

Here's a few pics from the day:

Johnny & co

Johnny showing Cohen the fine points of the game!

Mark & alisa

Alisa & her Daddy sharing a joke! (she's due in less than 10 weeks!)

Liam after

Liam all perky at the other end of the table!

I received some fun gifts from my kids, including a canvas of my 6 kids which matches my Facebook personal page header! I love looking at that picture, and now I will have one hanging in my home! Yay! (I have to admit, it sure is a nice perk to being the photographer's mom!)
