Stampin' Up! Daffodil Daydream Fun-Fold!

Hey there! Today I have a card to share that I created with the Daffodil Daydream Bundle and the Daffodil Afternoon Sale-a-bration Designer Paper. After posting all of the swaps yesterday created with Daffodil Daydream and Daffodil Afternoon I knew this was the best time to share my card with you!

To me, daffodils and tulips are the quintessential spring flowers! We built our house on some farm ground that we purchased from my husband's grandparents, and there used to be an old house place in the middle of one of the fields near our front door. The house was long gone before we even bought the land, but for years there was a huge area filled with daffodils every spring! My youngest daughter loved to go pick bouquets of them for me every year. Sadly, a newer weed killer that needed to be applied to the land also did away with all of those beautiful flowers, but we did manage to transplant several bulbs to our yard before they expired.

Stampin_up_daffodils_carolpaynestamps2 (1)

This card is an accordion pull-out card. Super easy! After cutting through the card front with the designer paper layer already adhered, I added the accordion layer to the inside (5 1/4" x 8", scored at 2" and 4". I added mini stampin' dimensionals through the circle opening (cut with a Layering Circles Die) to the folded-up layer so I could adhere the circle die-cut focal image perfectly in place!

Stampin_up_daffodils_carolpaynestamps3

To achieve the color I wanted for the daffodil I cut the base petals from Basic White, then added Daffodil Delight ink with a blending brush. I cut the detail pieces from Pale Papaya card stock, then used the same ink and blending brush to add Daffodil Delight accents. I glued all of the pieces together, popping the flower center with a couple of mini stampin' dimensionals.

Stampin_up_daffodils_carolpaynestamps4

The "Easter Blessings" greeting is from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set. I cut the butterfly with a Daffodils Die.

Stampin_up_daffodils_carolpaynestamps6

Inside I colored the stamped daffodil with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers and used a sentiment from the Sale-a-bration set, Special Moments.

Stampin' Up! Sunday Swap Day Have a Blessed Easter!

Hey there! I'm not going to spend much time on this post today, because today is such a special day. I'm going to post and get off here to contemplate the awesome gift Jesus gave us when he died on the cross and ROSE AGAIN! Praise the Lord!

I just have one card to share with you today, this swap created by Carol Slack with the Easter Promise stamp set from page 45 of the 2020 Spring Mini Catalog. This card is so lovely!

Stampin_up_easter_promise_carolpaynestamps1

Although Stampin' Up! discontinued the Purple Posy ink pad due to quality issues, the Purple Posy Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers are still available. After coloring the crocus', Carol added Clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer & shine. She also colored a few rhinestones with a Highland Heather Stampin' Blends marker for some pops of sparkle.

Stampin_up_easter_promise_carolpaynestamps2

The greeting is from Timeless Tulips, and the ribbon is 3/8" Tricolor Ribbon found in the Annual Catalog.

Stampin' Up! Sunday Swap Day Spring Blessings!

Hey there! Happy Palm Sunday! In past years our church has presented a Palm Sunday program of song and pageantry depicting the final days of our Savior's life here on earth. Preparations were being made for this year's program, but of course, the pandemic put it on hold. I hope we are able to present it when life goes back to normal!

Today's cards all feature Easter themes, starting with this bright and cheery Timeless Tulips card by Barb Dykhouse.

After stamping the tulip on Whisper White, she cut it out with a Stitched So Sweetly die, and added the black "hello". To me this looks a bit like a postage stamp!

Stampin_up_timeless_tulips_carolpaynestamps1

Here's a quick supply list for this card:

Next, Jan Rodrian clear heat-embossed Free as a Bird on Daffodil Delight, cut with a Stitched Nested Die, then sponged with Daffodil Delight for a great spring look:
Stampin_up_free_as_a_bird_carolpaynestamps1

The supplies:

The bunny from Fable Friends can be used for Easter, but he also looks like Peter Rabbit! Ruth Bingle stamped him on a layer cut with a Stitched Labels Die, colored with Stampin' Blends, and paper-pieced his jacket with the same paper as the background from Tropical Oasis Designer Paper! The greeting is also cut with a Stitched Labels Die.

Stampin' Up! Sunday Swap Day Welcome Easter!

Hey there! I'm not usually a big Easter bunny fan, but these swaps I received are so cute and well done I can't resist sharing them! All three of these swaps were created with the Welcome Easter stamp set found on page 46 of the 2020 Spring Mini Catalog!

First, Kathy Johnson combined the Welcome Easter set with Bird Ballad Designer paper (yes, that striped print is from Bird Ballad pack, and the flowers are cut from another Bird Ballad print) and the Country Floral 3D embossing folder for her z-fold/gatefold card:

Stampin_up_welcome_easter_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Rhonda Bassler combined Welcome Easter with Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder, Daisy Delight and the Daisy Punch, Painted Labels and Stitched Shapes Dies, and 5/8" Organdy Ribbon:

Stampin_up_welcome_easter_carolpaynestamps2

Finally, Jeanne Ciolli expertly watercolored with Stampin' Blends markers on watercolor paper all three of the critters in the Welcome Easter set, then used them to create a waterfall card!

Stampin_up_welcome_easter_carolpaynestamps3

First, the chick!

Stampin_up_welcome_easter_carolpaynestamps4

Next, the lamb!

Stampin_up_welcome_easter_carolpaynestamps5

And the bunny!

Stampin' Up! Pleased As Punch Tulips!

Hey there! Up to now I've been creating cards with just snippets and punched-out images from the Pleased As Punch Designer Paper. The card I'm sharing today uses a full card front with the tulips print! How about that?

Stampin_up_timeless_tulips_carolpaynestamps1

I tied a bow with white 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon:

Stampin_up_timeless_tulips_carolpaynestamps2

I inked the tulip with Flirty Flamingo, stamped-off once, then used the "rock n roll" technique to add an edge of full-strength Flirty Flamingo before stamping and punching with the Tulip Builder Punch. I explain how to do "rock n' roll" in my free downloadable tutorial below!

Stampin_up_timeless_tulips_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I used a masking technique to give the look of the leaves being behind the tulips. I show you how to do this too in my tutorial below!

Stampin' Up! Fable Friends Duckies!

Hey there! Today is Good Friday, and when I was a little girl I could never understand why it was called Good Friday when it was commemorating the day that Jesus was crucified. How could that day be called good? But I am so thankful that Jesus willingly laid down his life for the whole world, and even me! So today IS Good Friday!

Today I have a cute little card created with the Fable Friends ducklings and Gingham Gala Designer Paper:

Stampin' Up! Sunday Swap Day Easter Greetings!

Hey there! Easter is next Sunday.  The real meaning of Easter has nothing to do with bunnies, eggs, or candy, it's the celebration of the Resurrection of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. However, bunnies and eggs are spring symbols, and with spring comes new life in the world around us. Christ came to bring us forgiveness of our sins and therefore NEW LIFE, so enjoy thees cute cards today!

First, a fun Best Bunny Bundle card created by Cathy Miller:

Stampin_up_best_bunny_carolpaynestamps1

Best Bunny is a clear, photopolymer set, which makes it easy to stamp any of the three faces!

Stampin_up_best_bunny_carolpaynestamps2

Sentiment, grass, and tiny bunny also from Best Bunny:

Stampin_up_best_bunny_carolpaynestamps3

Next, Jenna Roby also used the Best Bunny Bundle (stamps & punch), pairing it with Twinkle Twinkle Designer paper:

Stampin_up_best_bunny_carolpaynestamps4

Stampin' Up! Ducky Pizza Box!

Hey there! I'm back! If you even noticed I've been gone awhile, I took a little break after my son's wedding. We are in the middle of some bedroom renovation, so something had to give, and blogging is one of the things that gave!

We aren't done yet, but I'm taking some time to get some blog posts scheduled with some cute projects I created before the wedding. Today's project features the cute Momma ducky from Fable Friends on a Mini Pizza Box!

Stampin_up_fable_friends_carollpaynestamps1

This little momma looks ready for anything with her rain slicker and hat! (I think she needs galoshes, but I guess when you're a duck, that really isn't necessary, is it!) I colored her with Stampin' Blends. See the supply list below for the colors I used.

Stampin_up_fable_friends_carolpaynestamps2

These little boxes are just the perfect size for treats, cookies, surprises, and even a gift card!
