Stampin' Up! Grateful Thanksgiving!

Hey there! It's time for the November Stampers Dozen Blog Hop!

1723402_10152213035905070_85588169_n

Our November theme is Grateful Thanksgiving! I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

For my project I decided to create a Thanksgiving wreath card with the Sparkle of the Season Bundle!

Stampin_up_sparkle_of_the_season_card_carolpaynestamps1

I started with a Soft Suede card base, then stamped a Crumb Cake layer with Gorgeous Leaves and Crumb Cake ink. I then embossed the layer with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder.

Here's the layer before embossing:

Stampin_up_sparkle_of_the_season_card_carolpaynestamps9

And after:

Stampin_up_sparkle_of_the_season_card_carolpaynestamps10

I cut the wreath layers from Mossy Meadow, Cinnamon Cider, and Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.

Stampin_up_sparkle_of_the_season_card_carolpaynestamps2

I love the subtle sparkle of the Rose Gold Metallic paper!

Stampin_up_sparkle_of_the_season_card_carolpaynestamps3

I accented the card with a few Gilded Gems and stamped a Sparkle of the Season sentiment with  Cajun Craze ink before cutting with a Tasteful Labels die.

Stampin_up_sparkle_of_the_season_card_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I stamped the same leaves on the Crumb Cake sentiment layer, then stamped another Sparkle of the Season sentiment with Cajun Craze ink.

Stampin' Up! Pansy Petals Floating Gatefold!

Hey there! Today I have a pair of Floating Gatefold cards I created with Pansy Petals Designer Paper, Watercolor Shapes & Biggest Wish stamp sets!

Stampin_up_biggest_wish_floating_gatefold_carolpaynestamps2

The first one is a thank you. I stamped-off the Watercolor Shapes square image once before stamping the Soft Succulent on a square of Basic White. I then added the "THANKS" and "friend" with full-strength Soft Succulent and Blackberry Bliss inks. I added three of the tiniest Loose Flower Flourishes for the finishing touch to the cards' belly-band.

Stampin_up_biggest_wish_floating_gatefold_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I used Shaded Summer sentiments and Summer Shadows dies (the dies are a Sale-a-bration freebie with a $100 order! They coordinate perfectly with the Shaded Summer stamp set and only are available while supplies last or September 30!)

Stampin_up_biggest_wish_floating_gatefold_carolpaynestamps4

The alternative card also uses Watercolor Shapes and Biggest Wish, cut with Layering Circle dies:

Here's a little better view of the "floating" mechanism for the inside panels:

Stampin_up_biggest_wish_floating_gatefold_carolpaynestamps9

I used more Shaded Summer images and the Summer Shadows dies again on the inside:

This card has been made before by other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. Here's a video by JanB of the UK!

Stampin' Up! White Christmas Gift Card Holder Card!

Hey there! I'm finally feeling better. I'm still stuffed up, but I'm taking an anitbiotic for a sinus infection, so it should clear up eventually. I even was able to venture out last night to watch my grandkids perform in their Christmas program at church! yay!

Here's a card created by Kelly Acheson from the last swap. Kelly used White Christmas and a unique construction to add a gift card holder to a traditional card:

Stampin_up_white_christmmas_1 - Copy

Very nice snowy scene. I love the tiny little bow at the end of the banner!

Stampin_up_white_christmas_2 - Copy

Inside there's a little pull-tab at the bottom to add the gift card!

Stampin_up_white_christmas_3 - Copy

The section attached to the front panel causes the inside to slide up when the card is opened so the gift card is revealed!

That's all for now! I've got a MILLION things to get done! I'm still pretty washed-out from the five-day fever, but there's so much to do, I need to be super-girl for awhile!

Here's the supply list for today's project. You can order what you need from my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin'Up! Sunday Swap Day Getting My Groove Back!

Hey there! I have to apologize for being silent so much of this past week. Even though I am feeling much better, laying low for those several days last week really put me behind on everything, including stamping and creating. I will have something new to show you on Monday, thank goodness, and am really happy to have more swaps to share with you today!

As many of you probably know, I participate in a monthly swap with Carol Nordquist's group. Carol has gathered a group of exceptional demonstrator stampers over the years. I was honored to be invited to join her group a few years ago (2009 I believe), and have been swapping with them almost every month since! We swap full cards, not just card fronts, and a total of 21 all-alike cards wings their way to Minnetonka, MN, around the 16th of every month. I am always excited to receive back 20 different cards, usually based on the theme Carol chooses.

Today's cards are no exception to the excellence rule of Carol's swap. This first card is by the queen of the swap herself, Carol Nordquist! Carol combined the Blessed Easter single stamp with Calypso Coral, Whisper White, and Basic Black to create a memorable birthday card:

Stampin_up_blessed_easter_1

When you open the card it folds back into a traditional easel card. Carol used a sentiment from Perfect Pennants, punched with the Decorative Label Punch, as the "stop" for the easel, and added Dazzling Diamonds to to popped-up tulip for some bling!

Stampin_up_blessed_easter_2

Renee Watson also used a sentiment from Perfect Pennants, coupling it with rock-n-rolled Petite Petals blossoms, Pumpkin Pie Chevron Ribbon, and a Tempting Turquoise/Chevron Textured card base.

Stampin_up_perfect_pennants_renewatson

Loraine Duran used the same sentiment Renee did, only she used stamps from Simple Stems and free Sale-a-bration Designer Paper, Sweet Sorbet for her Scalloped Tag Topper Closure card for a completely different look:

Stampin_up_perfect_pennants_lorraineduran

Amy Combs took Perfect Pennants in another direction entirely with the Geometrical stamp set and Kaleidoscope Designer Paper. She added touches of Burlap  and Natural Chevron Ribbon, and stamped her main image on a Scalloped Tag Topper-punched tag. The Arrows Textured Impressions Folder-embossed Summer Starfruit retro background pulls it all together!

Stampin_up_perfect_pennants_geometrical_amy_combs

Retro Fresh paper was combined with the Spiral Spins stamp set from the Occasions catalog (reminds me of my old spirograph!) A Just Sayin' greeting was cut with a Word Bubbles Framelit and a bit of Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffled Stretch Trim was formed into a rosette by this un-named (no name on the backof the card) creator:

Stampin_up_spiral_spins

Last for this week's Sunday Swap Day, Katy Simecka cut out a Silver-embossed Happy Day from Starburst Sayings with a Starburst Framelit, then mounted it on Fancy Foil Silver Vellum. This color and paper combo would also make a great wedding, anniversary, or retirement card, wouldn't it?

Stampin_up_starburst_sayings_katysimecka

That's all for today. Be sure to come back tomorrow to see a trio of little spring/easter treats I created for you!

I would be remiss if I let you go today without reminding you that today and tomorrow are the final day of Sale-a-bration for 2014. It goes by so quickly, doesn't it? To place your final (or maybe your first!) order of at least $50 before tax & shipping and choose your free item from this year's Sale-a-bration catalog, click HERE to shop and order from my Online Store.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin' Up! Starburst Sayings Happy Day!

Hey there! Today I have the final project from February's Happiest Day class using Starburst Sayings stamps and Birthday Basics Designer Paper!

Stampin_up_starburst_sayings_1

Happiest Day class attendees made this fun-fold card with the birthday candle attached with the Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and glue dots. The "Oh Happy Day"  and "celebrate" from Starburst Sayings was cut out with Starburst Framelit Dies, then mounted onto a circle cut with a Circles Collection Framelit and a 1 1/4" Circle punch. We also made a custom envelope for the card with the Envelope Punch Board.

Stampin_up_starburst_sayings_2
The card fully opened.

Stampin_up_make_a_wish_1

On the back side of the card we stamped images with the Make a Wish stamp set using Raspberry Ripple and Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Markers.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Sorbet Secret Garden in a Box!

Hey there! I've been working on projects for my Sale-a-bration Kick-off and played around with a new card construction that has been making the blog rounds lately-a card-in-a-box! Lookie:

Stampin_up_card_in_a_box_1

Isn't it just the cutest thing?

Stampin_up_card_in_a_box_2

I used Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper from the Sale-a-bration brochure, Secret Garden stamps and framelits, window sheets, the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch, Neutrals and Subtles Candy Dots, Petite Petals  and Peite Pairs stamps and Petite Petals punch!

Stampin_up_card_in_a_box_3

The coolest thing about this card is it folds flat and fits perfectly inside one of our regular medium envelopes!

Stampin_up_card_in_a_box_4

All the recepient has to do is take it out of the envelope and set it open. Ta da! Instant happy!

Well, that's all for now. I have one more hostess party on Thursday before my SAB kick-off on Friday. I'm ready for Thursday, but still have a few things to prep for Friday. So I'm off to bed a bit earlier than my norm so I can pop up in the a.m. and get going!

Stampin' Up! Starburst Sayings!

Hey there! I have another fun-fold card for you today using the same fold  and dimensions as yesterday, but this time I used the new Starburst Sayings from the Occasions Catalog to create a fun Birthday card:

Stampin_up_starburst_sayings_1

I love adding a real candle to a birthday card! Although it is not mailable, I made another custom envelope for it with my Envelope Punch Board. I cut out the "oh, HAPPY DAY" and the "celebrate", which are stamped with Bermuda Bay and Raspberry Ripple, with the coordinating Starburst Framelits Dies. I used Circles Framelits Dies that are just slightly larger than the starbursts to cut the layer behind each. I tied Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon around the candle before adding it to the card with 3 Glue Dots. The card base is Bermuda Bay, the designer paper is Birthday Basics, and the images are stamped on Very Vanilla.

I added tiny mounds of Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details to the dots in the middle of the "HAPPY", and even added a bit of the same to the end of the candle! The Dazzling Details do take a bit of time to dry, so I added it to my card last thing so I could allow it to lay flat to dry.

Stampin_up_starburst_sayings_2

A view of the card front opened to reveal all of the Birthday Basics paper used.

Stampin_up_make_a_wish_1

I used another pattern from the Birthday Basic pack, then stamped images from the Make a Wish stamp set, inked with Bermuda Bay and Raspberry Ripple Stampin' Write Markers. I even inked the flames on the stamp with Summer Starfruit!

That's all for now. To order the supplies to create this card, click HERE to go to my Online Store!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
