Stampin' Up! Flourishing Phrases Thinking of You!

Hey there! August is winding down, but that just means fall and the Holiday Catalog are right around the corner!

Today's card was created for my monthly class at Donna's house. I used the Flourishing Phrases bundle to make a "thinking of you" card:

Stampin_up_flourishing_phrases_carolpaynestamps1

I used Whisper White Thick card stock for the card base, with Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White, and Basic Black.

Stampin_up_flourishing_phrases_carolpaynestamps4

After I cut the Basic Black flourish with the die, I adhered it to the card front with little dots of Fine Tip Glue.

Stampin_up_flourishing_phrases_carolpaynestamps2

The "Just a Note" from Flourishing Phrases fit perfectly inside the opening I cut with two of the Layering Circles Framelits!

Stampin_up_flourishing_phrases_carolpaynestamps3
I embossed the Whisper White layer with the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for more interest.

Stampin_up_flourishing_phrases_carolpaynestamps5

The flourish stamp from Flourishing Phrases coordinates with the Flourish Die, but the die is not made to cut out the stamped image.

Stampin' Up! Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop June Edition, Patriotic!

Hey there! It's time for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! yay! Our theme for June is Patriotic, and we have some absolutely fabulous projects to share with you this month!

1723402_10152213035905070_85588169_n

Stella MacKay is still on an extended vacation in Europe after the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to the Mediterranean, so if you are already on the hop you've probably come from Laura Milligan's blog, I'd Rather "Bee" Stampin'! If at any time you get off course or one of our links doesn't work, just refer to the blog hop list at the bottom of this post and you can keep going!

For my Patriotic Project I used the Stars Framelits, Swirly Scribbles Thinlets,  Labeler Alphabet, and the Confetti Stars Border Punch. I used the new Labeler Alphabet to stamp the letters for "God Bless America". We have the National Anthem, the Star Spangled Banner, but when I think of patriotism, I think of asking God to bless and lead our country.

Stampin_up_labeler_alphabet_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I started with a star card base cut with Dapper Denim card stock and the largest Star Framelit. I cut a couple of swirling scribbles from Real Red card stock using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlet which I adhered to a Whisper White star cut with the next-smaller size Star Framelit with my Fine Tip Glue Pen. I trimmed the edges of the red swirls flush with the star with Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_labeler_alphabet_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

I punched a bunch of Dapper Denim stars with the Confetti Stars Border Punch, then randomly added with Fine Tip Glue and a "tacky toothpick".

I cut a Silver Glimmer Paper star with the smallest Star Framelit, adding it to the front with a Stampin' Dimensional.

After stamping the letters for "God Bless America" with Dapper Denim ink I cut them all out with Paper Snips and added them with Glue Dots.

Are you wondering about my "tacky toothpick"? A "tacky toothpick" is a regular wooden toothpick that I put a small drop of Tombow Multipurpose Glue on one end, then allow to air-dry.

Stampin_up_tacky_toothpick_1

The dry glue stays "tacky", allowing you pick up tiny pieces of paper, add a bit of glue to the back, and place precisely on your project!

Stampin_up_tacky_toothpick_2

Inside I stamped a word from the new Thoughtful Banners set with Dapper Denim ink and added a few Read Red stars using my tacky toothpick again.

Stampin' Up! Number of Years for the Graduate!

Hey there! Today I have a card for you that was inspired by one of my down-line, Becky Anderson. Every month at our team meeting we swap cards with each other to have for ideas for our workshops and classes and for display. I took the card that Becky swapped and with very little extra embellishment turned it into this:

Stampin_up_happy_happenings_carolpaynestamps1

This card uses It's My Party Designer Paper, retiring bu still available from the Occasions Catalog, and the Large Numbers Framelits, which are carrying over to the NEW Annual Catalog.

Stampin_up_happy_happenings_carolpaynestamps2

The black background for the numbers is embossed with the Lucky Stars folder. The "Congrats" is from the continuing Happy Happenings set, but has been punched with the already-sold-out Washi Label Punch. The star punch used on this card is also retiring as part of the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Stampin_up_happy_happenings_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I stamped "it's your day", a phrase from the retiring Fabulous Four set. The "let the celebration. . . " phrase is also from Happy Happenings, which will continue to be avaialble when the new catalog starts on June 1.

Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Stained Glass One More Time!

Hey there! I hope you aren't tired of the Rose Wonder set yet. I will have more cards using this gorgeous set in the future, but for today I have the last one's I created with the Stained Glass technique. I used Timeless Elegance Designer Paper and a color combo of Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Cherry Cobbler:

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_wedding_1_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I used the wedding stamps included in Rose Wonder, and added a bloom created with the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

My second Rose Wonder card I brushed on clear Wink of Stella for some sparkle, and used a greeting from the Sale-a-bration set, Perfect Pairings.

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_wedding_2_carolpaynestamps - Copy

Clear Wink of Stella brushed on Cherry Cobbler:

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_wedding_3_carolpaynestamps - Copy

For my third and final creation I filled in a Cherry Cobbler rose outline with Blushing Bride petals that I embossed with the Elegant Dots folder:

Inside I used more Rose Wonder stamps. This set is so versatile!

Stampin' Up! Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop January Edition Let's Sale-a-brate!

Hey there! It's time for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! yay!

1797524_10152216933805070_1250170996_n

If you are already on the hop, you probably just came from Stella MacKay's blog, Stellar Stamps! I love her creation with the Balloon Bouquet Punch and the "Hello" Sale-a-bration set!

Our theme this month is "Let's Sale-a-brate!", so I chose the adorable Honeycomb Happiness set from the Sale-a-bration Catalog, free with a $50 order:

Stampin_up_honeycomb_hello_1_carol_payne_stamps - Copy

I hadn't used my Circle Card Thinlets for awhile, so I used them with the Honeycomb folder!

Stampin_up_honeycomb_hello_2_carol_payne_stamps - Copy

I used the faux suede technique on the So Saffron card stock before stamping the chickie with Memento Tuxedo black ink. I added some highlights with a White Stampin' Chalk Marker, and then adhered a white Honeycomb Embellishment to his tummy! These little bits of honeycombed tissue are self-adhesive, so easy to use!

Stampin_up_honeycomb_hello_3_carol_payne_stamps - Copy

"OH, HELLO" and the chickie are from the Sale-a-bration set, Honeycomb Happiness. "peek-a-boo to someone new!" and "Congrats" are both from the Occasions Catalog set, Suite Sayings.

Here's the supply list for my card. If you want to shop, you can do so in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Before I give you more info about the sale, I want to show you the baby shower invitation I created for a girl at my church who is having TWINS!

Stampin_up_happy_notes_1 - Copy

Can you tell from the invite that she is having a BOY and a GIRL?

Stampin_up_happy_notes_2 - Copy

I used the Sweet Li'l Things Designer paper from the Annual Catalog, cutting the onesies and his little tie with Baby's First Framelits. I used the Large Polka Dot folder to emboss the very vanilla background.

Stampin_up_happy_notes_3 - Copy

For her I used the Happy Hearts folder to emboss the background. There is lots of Big Shot cutting on this card, but the only thing I fussy-cut with my snips was the strawberry on her little onesie!

"Oh Baby Baby" is from Happy Notes, page 64 of the Annual Catalog, cut with a Lots of Labels framelit.

Stampin' Up! Bravo!

Hey there! I'm later than normal today, but I'm getting ready for a workshop tonight, then leaving in the "wee sma's" tomorrow for Dallas, TX with my team to attend OnStage Local with Stampin' Up! I'm a whirlwind today! lol!

Yesterday my hostess had a request for a Graduation card, so I used the Bravo set and Stars Framelits:

Stampin_up_bravo_1 - Copy

I used Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, and Silver Glimmer paper. The Stars Framelits and the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack star punch made this card go together quick, and the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Folder added just the right amount of texture for the background!

Stampin_up_bravo_2 - Copy

All of the words stamped outside, inside, and on the envelope ALL are from the Bravo stamp set. It's a 13 piece photopolymer set that has just about every congratulatory phrase you can think of!

I plan to continue posting while I am gone. Stampin' Up! will be rolling out the SPRING Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration brochure, plus I'm swapping and will be taking LOTS of pictures, so I'll have TONS to share!

Stampin' Up! English Garden Glassine Butterfly!

Hey there! Happy 4th of July! I hope you get to spend your day with people you love, celebrating our great country's independence anniversary!

Today I have another card I created, possibly for a swap, with the English Garden Designer Paper and the Butterflies and Bold Butterflies Framelit Dies:

Stampin_up_english_garden_glassine_1

The butterfly is created from one layer of Rose Red card stock cut with the larger of the two Bold Butterfly Framelits, and the top layer is a Glassine Sheet cut with the coordinating Butterflies Framelits Die.

I took the white adhesive layer from the back of a White Perfect Accent to make it a clear round dot, then added it to the butterfly with a glue dot. I used Gold Metallic Thread again, knotting the loops to attach to the back of the butterfly head, also with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_english_garden_glassine_2

The longer this card exists, however, the more the edges of the glassine butterfly curl. I think I need to re-work these layers. Glassine Sheets are similar to waxed paper, so the lacy butterflies are very delicate but also fragile.

Stampin_up_english_garden_glassine_3

Inside I added a 1/4" wide strip of the same English Garden pattern to pull it all together. I love the "just because" from A Dozen Thoughts. It's so girly and sweet!

Here's the supply list for today. You can order it all in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin' Up! English Garden Butterfly!

Hey there! I've been designing convention swaps. A swap is a card you create, make several all alike, take to a Stampin' Up! event, then trade with other demonstrators for their "swap". You take a stack of cards all alike and come home with a stack all different!

Today's card uses English Garden Designer Series Paper. I used both sides of the same sheet, cutting the 3 3/4" x 5" piece in half at 1 7/8", then flipping one over to show the other side:

Stampin_up_english_gardnen_butterfly_1 - Copy

I used both sets of butterfly framelit dies to cut three layers; Night of Navy solid on bottom, Glassine Sheet solid in the middle, and Pink Pirouette lacy on top. All held together and adhered to the Kraft Corrugated Paper punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch with glue dots.

Stampin_up_english_garden_butterfly_2 - Copy

I separated the fibers of White 1/14" Jute Ribbon to tie the top of the tag, adding a strip of Rhinestones to the butterfly body.

Stampin_up_english_garden_butterfly_3 - Copy
This is my favorite sentiment from All Boxed Up, punched with the Washi Label Punch!

Stampin_up_english_garden_butterfly_4 - Copy

Not my favorite, but I like it better this morning than I did last night. My husband laughed when I told him sometimes the creativity just "pours out of my head" and sometimes it doesn't!

Stampin' Up! Curvy Keepsakes Box For the Graduate!

Hey there! Wow, yesterday I had fun placing my first order from the New Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog! Demonstrators got to pre-order a specific group of items a month ago, but yesterday we could order it all! I paid a little extra shipping to have them here in time for my New Catalog Kick-Off on Saturday!

Today I'm sharing with this quick little box I created for Maddie Kate's graduation gift:

Stampin_up_curvy_keepsake_box - Copy

It was easy to cut the Basic Black cardstock with the Curvy Keepsake Die and the Big Shot, assemble, then add a 3" x 3" square on top. I cut a slit in the center diagonally from about an inch out from two opposite corners to slide over the handles on the top of the box.

The greeting is from the new Friendly Wishes. I punched with the Decorative Label punch, then adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I created the "tassel" by cutting a piece of Hello Honey ribbon from the Occasions catalog in half, then pulling threads from each end before tying the ends together in a knot. This ribbon isn't available anymore, but you could achieve this effect with several of our current ribbons.

Inside we tucked a personalized name stamp "Maddie Kate". Unfortunately, Stampin' Up! has decided to discontinue the personalized name and address stamp line, so you can't order them anymore. Bummer.
