Stampin' Up! Petal Palette Triple Time!
December 29, 2017
Hey there! The card I'm sharing today we won't be making at the Stampin' In the New Year Birthday Card Stamp-a-Stack, but I wanted to share it with you now because I love it so much and it's also made with the Petal Palette stamp set!
I have two versions of this card. The first is what I would call Triple Time Clean-and-Simple. The layers are also shifted to the left instead of centered in traditional Triple Time, which does make it a little trickier to line up before and after stamping, but I love the look!
I used Pool Party for the card base and the mat layers, and Whisper White for the image layers.
To stamp the layers triple-time, I used a tiny bit of adhesive behind each layer to keep them in place while stamping. I inked the bloom/leaves image with Bermuda Bay ink, then used a baby wipe to remove the ink from the leaves. I inked the cleaned leaves with Old Olive using a Stampin' Write Marker. I stamped all of the layers at the same time for the triple-time effect.
I used the measurements on my grid sheet to line up the edges of the layers 1/2" apart. This is the key to the Triple-Time Stamping technique.
After stamping I took the layers apart and backed each one with a Pool Party layer that is 1/4" longer and wider than the stamped layer it is adhered to. After adhering all of the layerts to the card base I added a bow tied with Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon using a glue dot. I also added a single Petal Passion Embellishment with a glue dot.
My second version is stepped-up by embossing all of the stamped layers with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder before I took it apart to add the Pool Party layers.
This one is actually my fave!
There are two different styles in the Petal Passion Embellishments pack, the flower and this little leafy branch. Both can be added to your projects with glue dots, or tied with narrow ribbon, baker's twine, or thread.
I stamped the inside of both cards the same using a Petal Passion phrase with Bermuda Bay ink. To stamp the bloom/leaves I simply breathed (huffed) on the previously inked image before stamping to get a lighter, faded look.
