Stampin' Up! English Garden Glassine Butterfly!
July 04, 2015
Hey there! Happy 4th of July! I hope you get to spend your day with people you love, celebrating our great country's independence anniversary!
Today I have another card I created, possibly for a swap, with the English Garden Designer Paper and the Butterflies and Bold Butterflies Framelit Dies:
The butterfly is created from one layer of Rose Red card stock cut with the larger of the two Bold Butterfly Framelits, and the top layer is a Glassine Sheet cut with the coordinating Butterflies Framelits Die.
I took the white adhesive layer from the back of a White Perfect Accent to make it a clear round dot, then added it to the butterfly with a glue dot. I used Gold Metallic Thread again, knotting the loops to attach to the back of the butterfly head, also with a glue dot.
The longer this card exists, however, the more the edges of the glassine butterfly curl. I think I need to re-work these layers. Glassine Sheets are similar to waxed paper, so the lacy butterflies are very delicate but also fragile.
Inside I added a 1/4" wide strip of the same English Garden pattern to pull it all together. I love the "just because" from A Dozen Thoughts. It's so girly and sweet!
