Stampin' Up! Banner for a Boy!
March 23, 2015
Hey there! We had a relaxing Sunday. We finally were able to get everyone here to celebrate Mark's birthday. We had lunch, gifts for the birthday guy and then we had a session of target practice. Yes, I do shoot guns occasionally, but only for fun. I've shot clay targets as well as stationary targets. I went squirrel hunting a few times with Mark back when we were first married, but don't ask me to go when it's cold! My mom shot guns with my dad, and even had her own 410 shotgun, so I guess it's a bit of a tradition. Later I took a nap while several of the kids played a game "Oh Gnome You Don't"! It was a good day.
A few weeks ago Jessica asked me to create a birthday banner for one of her clients' third birthday photo session. If you haven't guessed this about me already, I tend to procrastinate and then get my best ideas at the last minute, and this project was no exception. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Jessica took the pictures for me so they have her watermark on them. Isn't this little guy just so cute?
Marina Mist and Garden Green cardstock, accented with Daffodil Delight stars and birthday candles stamped with the Cycle Celebration set. The Basic Black "THREE" letters are from retired Big Shot dies.
I hand-cut the banners, then punched the holes to thread the heavy jute twine with my 1/4" handheld punch.
I plan to make more of these in several colors, for both boys and girls. The next one I make I will use a star for the candle flame too.
To give the letters more dimension I cut out three of each letter and stacked them together with Glue Dots before adhering them to the banners.
That's all for today. You can find the card stocks, the Cycle Celebration stamp set, and the star punch in my online store here:http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/carolpayne/
There's still time to get some freebies with your order. Order $50 or more in my store and you will get to choose an item from the Sale-a-bration brochure or flyers.
You will also receive a Thank You Project Packet in the mail from me!
Thanks for stopping in! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
