Stampin' Up! Best of Autumn Emboss Resist!
September 29, 2013
We had a really nice day with all our family home for dinner and the afternoon to celebrate Jessica's birthday. Of course I'm not prejudice, but I know I have a great family!
Although it doesn't look very fall-ish at my house yet, I was inspired by my Sunday Swap Day cards to create this card with the Best of Autumn stamp set, the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, and the Autumn Accents Die:
I used the emboss resist technique on the Very Vanilla strip. I stamped the leaf image with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder, then embossed with my Heat Tool. After cooling for a few seconds I sponged the embossed images with Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, and Soft Suede ink. The clear embossing "resists" the ink and allows the Very Vanilla color to show through. After I applied all of my inks I gently rubbed over the images with a kleenex to remove the excess ink.
The "give thanks" greeting is from the Best of Autumn set, as well as the pumpkin image I stamped in the lower right corner before embossing the Baked Brown Sugar layer with the Woodgrain Folder.
I cut a Very Vanilla leaf with my Autumn Accents Die, stamped the "give thanks" on the leaf, then sponged with the same three colors I used with the emboss resist. I tore apart a strip of 1 1/4" Burlap Trim to get the burlap threads I looped together and secured with a Vintage Trinket brad. After inserting the brad in the base of the leaf I adhered it all to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
For the inside I stamped with a phrase from Trust God, then used the emboss resist technique along with LOTS of sponging of Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.
That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
