Stampin' Up! So Many Shells!

Hey there! Happy Eclipse Day! Do you live near all of this craziness? We are just a few miles from the Totality Corridor, and yes, we are planning to head down into it today, despite the warnings of traffic gridlock and what not. My husband has been an amateur astronomer since he was a young boy, and has been waiting for this event for years!

Before we hit the road, I wanted to share this little card with you I created at the same time I was making a So Many Shells card a couple of months ago for a blog hop:

Stampin_up_so_many_shells_be_the_good_carolpaynestamps1

I subtly stamped the shells with Versamark on the Soft Sky layer, adhered to a Crumb Cake layer, then to a Soft Sky card base.

Stampin_up_so_many_shells_be_the_good_carolpaynestamps2

I love this sentiment, also included in So Many Shells. A double sentiment, actually! I looped a little bit of Linen Thread behind it, securing with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Stampin_up_so_many_shells_be_the_good_carolpaynestamps3

The shell images in this set are beautiful, but it's the sentiments that really made me want it for my collection!

Stampin' Up! Sheet Music Sheltering Tree!

Hey there! I used the masking technique with Sheet Music and Sheltering Tree to create this pair of sympathy cards:

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps1

I tore a piece of paper and then adhered it over the Whisper White layer with washi tape. I inked the Sheet Music stamp with Basic Gray ink, stamped it off on scrap paper before stamping over the  masked white layer. Leaving the torn-paper mask on the layer, I used a Sponge Brayer to roll first Soft Sky and then Pear Pizzazz over the Sheet Music image. The Sponge Brayers contain two handles and four sponge rollers, allowing you to sponge with 4 different colors before rinsing any of them out with water. I keep my sponges stored in labeled baggies with the color they have been rolled in. At only $8 for four sponges and two handles, I can afford to dedicate the sponges!

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps2

After stamping and brayering, I removed the paper mask and then stamped the tree with Basic Black ink.

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I stamped a Thoughts & Prayers sentiment with Marina Mist ink and sponged the edges with Pear Pizzazz.

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps4

My second creation was constructed in the same manner.

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps5

I love the look of Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz brayered side by side!

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps6

I stamped the Sheltering Tree greeting stamped on a 3/4" wide banner strip.

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps7

I used more Thoughts and Prayers sentiments on the inside:

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop Sympathy

Hey there! We made today's card last month at the Cozy Table class with the Flower Shop set:

Stampin_up_flower_shoppe_carolpaynestamps1

We embossed the Pool Party layer with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions folder, added a strip of  Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper and a piece of Tranquil Tide 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon to coordinate with the Tranquil Tide card base and the ink used to stamp the two Flower Shop blooms. We did lots of sponging on the edges of the card layers, and blooms before adhering the blooms together and to the card with a dimensional. We added a Clear Faceted Gem to the center.  We had this sympathy sentiment and a happy birthday one from Rose Garden to choose from, punched with the Pretty Label Punch.

Stampin_up_flower_shoppe_carolpaynestamps2

Inside we used  another sentiment from Rose Wonder and lots of sponging.

Stampin' Up! Stamping My Way Through the Catalog, Grown with Love Day 3!

Hey there! Today's card is my favorite! In a stash of old cards from many years ago I found a pull-out card design I updated with Grown with Love and In Colors Berry Burst and Sweet Sugarplum!

Stampin_up_grown_with_love_watering_can_carolpaynestamps1

I used the Old Olive diagonal-striped print from Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper for the background, layering on Whisper White before adhering to the Old Olive card base. The flowers and greeting are inked with Berry Burst, Sweet Sugarplum, and Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Markers and cut with a Garden Grown framelit. I stamped the blooms again and cut with the separate bloom framelits included in the Garden Grown framelits. The blooms are bursting out of the Smoky Slate watering can, also cut with a Garden Grown framelit.

Stampin_up_grown_with_love_watering_can_carolpaynestamps2

The slider opening was simply punched with the Classic Label Punch!

Stampin_up_grown_with_love_watering_can_carolpaynestamps3

I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Berry Burst 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon, and a Special Celebrations sentiment.

Stampin_up_grown_with_love_watering_can_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I stamped the companion Special Celebrations sentiment.

The only additions to the card front were the Starburst punch I used to punch out the greeting and the Gold Faceted Gem I added to the bloom.

The Oh Happy Day Card Kit was still on my crafting table, so I used one of the stamps for the inside.

Stampin' Up! Thailand Achiever's Blog Hop July Edition!

14207747_1112855362100831_7710730354996407642_o

Hey there! Welcome to the Thailand Incentive Trip Achiever's Blog Hop! The hop this month is dedicated to the impressions of the fabulous trip, which just ended a little over a week ago. You may have come from the blog previous to me on the list, but right now you are at Carol Payne Stamps. If at any time you get off track or hit a dead end, you can refer to the list at the bottom of each participating blog and find your way to the next one!

I was not able to go to Thailand; my husband was not particularly excited to travel the looong plane hours. I have taken one of my children on previous trips, but because my farmer husband hasn't been able to attend an Incentive Trip since Hawaii 2009, I really hated to leave him behind again. I'm working hard to earn enough points to take him on the 2018 Incentive Trip, Alaska!

I earned enough points for Thailand but I don't have any pictures to share or impressions of the trip. However, I was able to see some of the attendees Facebook posts about their trip. As usual, Stampin' Up! did an excellent job of pampering and providing demonstrators and their guest with many unique opportunities to enjoy all that Thailand has to offer.

Instead, I created a card with the So Many Shells set to highlight the seaside aspect of Thailand:

Stampin_up_so_many_shells_carolpaynestamps1

I used the Emboss Resist technique, embossing the shell repeatedly on Glossy card stock with clear powder and my Heat Tool. I then used Sponge Brayers to roll first Sahara Sand and then Soft Sky ink over the embossed shells. After I achieved the ink intensity and smooth coverage I wanted I then buffed the layer all over with a Kleenex to remove any excess ink.

I stamped the greeting with Sahara Sand on Whisper White, layering it on Crumb Cake and then Soft Sky. I stamped a single shell with Soft Sky on Soft Sky card stock, hand-cut with Paper Snips, sponged the edges with Sahara sand, and then added a layer of Fine Tip Glue all over for dimension and gloss. I took a single thread from a piece of Burlap Ribbon, wound it around a couple of fingers, tied a knot to secure the loops, and then adhered behind the greeting a shell with glue dots.

Stampin_up_so_many_shells_carolpaynestamps2

Inside I stamped another So Many Shells sentiment with Sahara Sand ink, as well as a few more shells, using a masking technique to help the Soft Sky shell stand in front of the larger Sahara Sand one.

Stampin_up_so_many_shells_carolpaynestamps3

Now it's time to move forward on the hop to see what the other blogger's have created and/or have to share! Just click on the name after mine on the list. Right now you are at Carol Payne.
