Stampin' Up! So Detailed Dragonfly!

Hey there stamping friends! My creation today was CASED from page 52 of the Occasions Catalog. Did you know it's perfectly o.k. to copy (CASE) the projects Stampin' Up! features in their catalogs? Did you know it's o.k. to CASE my projects ? IT IS!!!

Of course, everyone that CASES a project changes something a little bit.  That's what I did today.

The So Detailed Thinlets I used to cut the glittery Blushing Bride "doors" are retiring. They are bundled with the So In Love stamps used  for the "a day to celebrate" greeting, saving you 10%. So In Love and So Detailed Thinlets are only available while supplies last.

Stampin_up_so_detailed_dragonfly_dreaams_carolpaynestamps1
The Falling In Love Designer Series Paper used on this card is sold out, but easily substituted.

I used about 40 inches of Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon to wrap three times around the card  for a rich, elegant look. This retiring ribbon is discounted from $6.00 to $3.60.

Stampin_up_so_detailed_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps2

Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper, also retiring, is discounted from $5.00 to $3.00.

Stampin_up_so_detailed_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps3

I cut a single Basic Black dragonfly for the front.

Stampin_up_so_detailed_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps4

After untying the "doors" and lifting the front, I stamped the So In Love bloom with Blushing Bride. The greeting and dragonflies are from the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, which will only be discounted 10% through May 31st. Although not retiring, they won't be bundled for savings in the new catalog.

Stampin' Up! Love Sparkles Dragonfly Dreams!

Hey there!

Today's card is the final one created for my Dragonfly Dreams class. I combined Love Sparkles (retiring) with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets.

Stampin_up_love_sparkles_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps1

I used a new-to-me technique, "ziploc watercolor"!

After white heat-embossing the images on Shimmery White, I put drops of Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, and Elegant Eggplant reinker on a ziploc baggie, spritzed with water, laid a second baggie on top to "smoosh" the reinker, then lifted the baggie and laid a Shimmery White layer on top.

Stampin_up_love_sparkles_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped a Balloon Adventures (retiring) phrase with Basic Black Archival, inside.

Stampin_up_love_sparkles_balloon_adventures_carolpaynestamps1

A second inking with the same spritzed ziploc gave a different look!

Stampin_up_love_sparkles_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps3

Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer dragonfly was adhered with a tiny dimensional piece. The greeting is white heat embossed on a Basic Black banner.

Stampin_up_love_sparkles_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps4

I stamped a Sending Thoughts (retiring) phrase inside the second card.

Stampin' Up! Thailand Achiever's April Blog Hop Celebrating OnStage!

14207747_1112855362100831_7710730354996407642_o

Hey there! This month Thailand Achiever's Blog Hop theme is "Onstage April 2017 and Eastern Palace". Onstage is an event for Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators only. We get to see, feel and play with brand new products coming in the new Annual Catalog. Some of us are showing highlights from Onstage, and some are featuring the Eastern Palace Product Suite, available  to order early starting May 1st. Attending Stampin' Up! events to see new products and getting to order and play with new products early are just a few of the reasons to join as a Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator, even if you aren't interested in selling!

You may just be starting the blog hop here - Carol Payne Stamps, or have come from the person previous to me. If you get off track, the full lineup below will help you move from blog to blog. Right now you're visiting Carol Payne.

For my creation I went straight to the new Annual Catalog pages featuring the Eastern Palace Suite. This suite features three new In Colors: Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, and Lemon Lime Twist. I used Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, Very Vanilla, Gold, and a bit of another new In Color, Berry Burst, adding my own changes and touches.

Stampin_up_eastern_palace_carolpaynestamps1

Everything is from the Eastern Palace Suite: Fresh Fig, Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst, Eastern Beauty photopolymer set, Eastern Medallions Thinlets.

For the first time, we have Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers, used along the sides!

Stampin_up_eastern_palace_carolpaynestamps2

To achieve the ombre look on the greeting, I inked the stamp first with Berry Burst, stamped-off once, inked the bottom portion with Fresh Fig, then stamped in the center of Eastern Medallions-cut front. Metallics Enamel Dots add bling!

Stampin_up_eastern_palace_carolpaynestamps4

I attached a Tranquil Tide Mini Tassel with Gold 1/8" Ribbon. I secured the knot with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_eastern_palace_carolpaynestamps5

Only Stylized Birthday, also ombre-stamped, doesn't come from the Eastern Palace Suite!

Stampin_up_eastern_palace_carolpaynestamps6

Thanks for taking our hop! Remember, currently you're here -Carol Payne, so check the blog hop list to see who's next!

Remember, all of the products used today will be available to order on May 1st!

Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Dreams Petals!

Hey there stamping friends! My card today is a re-make of the card I shared with the FCCLA group back in February. Instead of You're Sublime, I took the left over card kits and created this card with Dragonfly Dreams and Suite Sayings!

Stampin_up_dragonfly_dreams_petal_burst_carolpaynestamps1

The colors are still Emerald Envy, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, and Basic Black!

To view my original creation with You're Sublime (which is a retiring stamp set but you can still order it right now!) go HERE.

I painted the Basic Black Dragonfly with Clear Wink of Stella for some shine.

Stampin_up_dragonfly_dreams_petal_burst_carolpaynestamps2

The Suite Sayings greeting is also stamped with the spots from Dragonfly Dreams and punched with the Decorative Label Punch which, sadly, is retiring.

Stampin_up_dragonfly_dreams_petal_burst_carolpaynestamps3
I finished off the front with Emerald Envy sponging and Emerald Envy 3/8" Ruched Ribbon.

Inside I stamped another Suite Sayings phrase and more Tempting Turquoise spots.

Stampin' Up! Awesomely Artistic Dragonflies!

Hey there! I created today's card for my Dragonfly Dreams class this weekend, and I love it, but after I finished it I realized that although it does have dragonflies on it, I didn't use Dragonfly Dreams at all!

This card is very flat. I can't exactly call it a "one layer" card because there are two layers on top of the Rich Razzleberry card base, but it's very flat and easily mailable!

Stampin_up_awesomely_artistic_carolpaynestamps1

I combined Awesomely Artistic with Big on Birthdays using the Collage stamping technique.

Stampin_up_awesomely_artistic_carolpaynestamps2

Rich Razzleberry card base, Sweet Sugarplum layer, followed by the stamped Whisper White layer that I sponged the edges with Sweet Sugarplum ink.

Stampin_up_awesomely_artistic_carolpaynestamps3

Both the Dragonflies and the bunch of blossoms are stamped with Sweet Sugarplum. I "stamped-off" the blossom bunch on my grid paper before stamping on the layer to get the lighter shade.

After stamping the Big on Birthdays greeting with Basic Black Archival ink, I added Mint Macaron leaves and splatters stamped with stamped-off Sahara Sand finish off the front.

Inside follows the same drill.

Stampin' Up! A Blessed Easter Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there stamping friends! Today is a special day for our family. We all get to worship together, celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, and then we get to spend the rest of the day enjoying being together as a family!

I've saved a last few swaps to share with you today in honor of Easter!

First here's an adorable little treat topper created by Sherri Peters. Sherri made it quick and easy with the Basket Bunch Bundle!

Stampin_up_basket_bunch_carolpaynestamps1

Next, my team member, Martha Swift, gave each of us attending OnStage Local last week this cute box that didn't need any adhesive to create!

Stampin_up_circle_of_spring_carolpaynesstamps1

She used the Timeless Tags Thinlets to create the medallion on top, stamping the greeting from Circle of Spring and cutting out the layers with Layering Circles Framelits. Her finishing touch was a Sweet Sugarplum Enamel Shape!

When you open the box you can really see how the unique folds help the box keep its' shape without adhesive.

Stampin_up_circle_of_spring_carolpaynestamps2

Cathy Lingle, another Mam's team member, created this swap using the Easter Message set. I love the regal look she achieved with Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Vellum, and Gold Foil!

Stampin_up_easter_message_carolpaynestamps1

Finally, my dear stamping customer, Diane Laur, created this easel bookmark card. I received it in the mail last week!

Stampin_up_easter_message_carolpaynestamps4

I love the designer paper she used. Although it is not Stampin' Up!, that's ok. I know my customers use products from other sources. It just shows how wonderfully Stampin' Up! can coordinate! Diane did use Easter Messages for the scripture reference on the front. I'm not sure where she got the inside sentiment from, but it may be computer generated. In any case, it's a wonderful card. I forgot to take a picture of the bookmark stored in the front of the card, but trust me, it's awesome too!

Stampin_up_easter_message_carolpaynestamps7

Well, that's all of my Easter swaps and samples for this year. Now I'm going to get off this computer and finish my prep for our Easter family celebration.

I will be back tomorrow with another Dragonfly Dreams creation. Until tomorrow, have a blessed Easter and a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin' Up! Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop, April Edition, Carryover Stamps!

Hey there! It's time for the April Edition of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are using Carryover sets that will be in the new Annual Catalog, beginning June 1st, but you can still order them now too!

1723402_10152213035905070_85588169_n

I decided to use Dragonfly Dreams for my hop project!

Stampin_up_fluttering_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps1

I combined embossing folder "stamping"and triple time stamping with the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle. My card is inspired by Lavinia Gruizinga.

Stampin_up_fluttering_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps2

To "stamp" with an embossing folder: rub the raised side of the folder directly with your inkpads. Starting at the bottom of the folder, I applied Emerald Envy, Wild Wasabi, Bermuda Bay, and Tempting Turquoise. I then spritzed iberally with water before putting the Shimmery White layer directly on the inked surface and gently pressing and smoothing with my fingers. NOTE: this is an inky, messy technique, so you may want to wear protective gloves!

  Stampin_up_fluttering_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps6

After holding the paper on the folder for a few extra seconds to allow the ink to absorb, remove and set aside to dry for several minutes or speed up the drying  with a Heat Tool. You will know the paper is dry when it is flat again.

Stampin_up_fluttering_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps8

You can usually get two card fronts from each inking of the folder as long as you spritz again with water in between. No two fronts will ever look the same!

Stampin_up_fluttering_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps3

I white heat embossed the sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams. The Rhinestones are now retired and sold out, but don't worry, there will be a new configuration of Rhinestones and Pearls in the next catalog!

Stampin_up_fluttering_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I inked Stylized Birthday and the Awesomely Artistic dragonfly with the same colors using the Baby Wipe technique to ink the stamps.

Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Dreams Flip Flap Bee!

Hey there stamping friends! Today I have another Dragonfly Dreams card to share with you. I used the Flip Flap Fold with the Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create this fun bumblebee card:

Stampin_up_hexagon_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps1

I stamped the greeting from Jar of Love with Eaink before inking up the raised side of the Hexagon folder and embossing the layer.

Stampin_up_hexagon_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps2

The bumblebee die coordinates with the stamp from Dragonfly Dreams. I stamped the bee with So Saffron and cut out the bee from Gold Foil.

Stampin_up_hexagon_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I used a phrase from the retiring set, Friendly Wishes.

Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Dreams Class!

Hey there! Here's the Dragonfly Dreams class for next week!

Stampin_up_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps1

We'll make these 5 cards for $15 or free with a $40 product order.  If you want to attend, please RSVP to me ASAP so I can get you on my list!

Dates are April 20th, 6-9 p.m. , April 21st  6-9 p.m., and April 22nd 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at my house!

Today's card features Definitely Dahlia background with Dragonfly Dreams!

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps1

I used Timeless Textures to stamp a cross-hatch background. I have a new point-and-shoot camera, but it didn't have an instruction manual, so I'm guessing as I go along. These pics seem almost blown-out and it has focus issues. That's what I get for buying a camera hanging on a peg in Walmart!

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_dragonfly_dreams_carolpaynestamps2

Soft Sky, Basic Black, and Very Vanilla. A Falling in Love Embellishment (retiring) adorns the dahlia's center.

The pic of the inside was taken with my "old reliable" camera. While the new camera seems to take a sharper pic (when it DOES focus correctly), the old camera seems to take "warmer" pics. Waddaya think?

Stampin' Up! Flip Flap Succulents!

Hey there stamping friends! Recently I learned a new fold that is easy and a lot of fun, the Flip Flap Fold!

Stampin_up_flip_flap_succulents_carolpaynestamps1

When I created this card I knew that everything Mint Macaron was retiring. Now, thanks to the release of the Retiring List by Stampin' Up! yesterday, EVERYTHING on this card, with the exception of Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White, Stitched Shapes Framelits, and the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, IS retiring!

Stampin_up_flip_flap_succulents_carolpaynestamps2

Suite Sentiments provided the greetings on the outside and inside flaps, stamped with Sweet Sugarplum and cut out with Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Stampin_up_flip_flap_succulents_carolpaynestamps3

I stamped-off the Mint Macaron ink before stamping over the words. Inside I used sentiments from the also retiring Cottage Greetings.

Stampin_up_flip_flap_succulents_carolpaynestamps4

Even though it is sad to see these wonderful products retiring, the GOOD NEWS is they are deeply discounted right now!

Stampin_up_flip_flap_succulents_carolpaynestamps5

To place your order for the retiring Oh So Succulents stamps, Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper, Cottage Garden stamps, and Mint Macaron card stock and ink,  hop over to my online store: http://bit.ly/shopwithCarolPayneStamps

The prices shown here will be adjusted to reflect the retiring discounts when you place your order.
