Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest from Vacation Stamping School!

Hey there! Before the fall goes any farther I wanted to share with you the Painted Harvest cards I found at Vacation Stamping  School!

These first two cards are easy-peasy but pack a real visual WOW. The Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper does all of the work. A 3" x 4" rectangle is a gorgeous background for the Painted Harvest-stamped  banner.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps1

This card is an identical layout to the first, but with a Garden Green base to layer another Painted Autumn print. You can see it better on this card, but both cards have vellum punched with the Leaf Punch behind the sentiment.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps2

This card was a Card Contest favorite. The creator used a double-fold design that showcases many Painted Harvest images as well as Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps3

The Early Espresso card base and layering mats are the perfect background for the stamped and designer paper elements.

Absolutely gorgeous!

Stampin' Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop September Color Challenge!

Hey there! It's time for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!

1723402_10152213035905070_85588169_n

Our theme this month is a color challenge: Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig, and Very Vanilla!

As soon as I saw these colors together, I knew it would be perfect to pair with the Painted Harvest stamp set. It's early in the Holiday Catalog season, but so far I've seen more Painted Harvest projects online than any other Holiday Catalog set!

I added Crushed Curry and Soft Suede to the color palette to add to the warmth of the three original colors.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_shutter_carolpaynestamps1

I used sentiments from the Beautiful Bouquet set. "Happy Birthday" fits nicely inside the Pretty Label Punch. I added a Fresh Fig Pretty Label that I cut in half to "stretch" behind the Fresh Fig-sponged greeting before adding it to the cards' belly-band.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_shutter_carolpaynestamps2

As the card is opened the "shutter" starts to open to reveal the inside sentiment:

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_shutter_carolpaynestamps3

The farther you open the card, more of the sentiment is revealed:

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_shutter_carolpaynestamps4

I added a Gold Faceted Gem for a bit of sparkle!

Though probably not a card you would want to make a million of, it has its' place on the fireplace mantel!

Now it's time to move on to Judy Garza's blog to see what she has created with these colors!

If you wish, you may "hop back" to Laura Milligan's blog to see her creation!

Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe' from Vacation Stamping School!

Hey there! Just a quick post this morning to show you a collection of cards from Vacation Stamping School created with the Coffee Cafe' Bundle. There was a whole board of cards created with this set!

Stampin_up_coffee_cafe_carolpaynestamps

Here's a few that I photographed individually to remember more detail. Remember, when I take pictures of displays I have no way to note who the creators are.

This one used the Marbled Background with Tempting Turquoise and Lemon Lime Twist. They used a Happy Birthday Gorgeous Greeting along with the Coffee thinlets.

A sweet and yummy-looking square card:

Stampin_up_coffee_cafe_carolpaynestamps2

The creator of this card used the cup and the sugar cubes to create "ice cubes" for a  cup of lemonade!

Stampin' Up! Season Like Christmas Simple and Stepped-Up!

Hey there! One of the great things about going to an event like Vacation Stamping School is getting to see (and take pics) of all of the great ideas on display! Today's cards were created with the Season Like Christmas stand-alone set (no punches or dies to accompany it, gasp!)

First, a very simple-stamping card with Garden Green, Real Red, Whisper White, Early Espresso, and Daffodil Delight. Cut with a Layering Oval Framelit, this would be a great card to mass-produce; all it needs is a greeting!

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

Next, this card used the same colors as the first, but using a Stamping Sponge to add depth to the edges of the layers takes it up a notch. Again, a good mass-production card!

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps2

This card from the Card Contest has more layers (Lemon Lime Twist and Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper), a sentiment from Ready for Christmas, and Embossing Paste added for "snow"! I love the addition of the tiny deer from the Carols of Christmas Bundle!

Finally, here's my recently shared creation with this set. You can view the post with all of the info HERE.

Stampin' Up! Quilted Christmas from Vacation Stamping School!

Hey there! After sharing my cards yesterday using the Christmas Quilt stamps set and Quilt Top Textured Impressions Folder, I think it's time to share the samples that were shared at Vacation Stamping School using the Quilted Christmas Suite:

These samples were part of a really inspiring presentation. I just wish I had jotted down her name.

The Quilted Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Stack provides lots of lovey patterns and designs! The Quilted Christmas 1/4" Ribbon and Stitched Felt Embellishments are fun additions.

The Quilt Builder Framelits Dies are bundled with the Christmas Quilt stamps to save 10% or you can always purchase just the stamps or just the dies.

A Mini Pizza Box is the perfect container for 3" x 3" tag/cards!

Stampin_up_quilted_christmas_carolpaynestamps2

Stampin' Up! Christmas Quilt!

Hey there! The very first stamp set you can order from the Holiday Catalog is  Christmas Quilt on page 5. As soon as I opened the catalog I knew this set would be on my first order! In fact, I ordered the entire Quilted Christmas Suite!

My card today uses the Christmas Quilt stamps and the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder:

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_first_carolpaynestamps1

This is a very quick and easy card, perfect for making multiples for Christmas mailing! I used the basic Christmas color scheme of Garden Green, Real Red, and Whisper White for my creation. It works!

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_first_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped "peace" with Real Red ink on the Whisper White layer before I embossed with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Folder. I love the deep dotted/quilted impression the folder makes. Really looks like a quilt top!

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps5

I also created a slightly stepped-up version by adding a tiny wooden star from the Hearts & Stars Elements with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive Glue.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps

Inside of both is stamped with another Christmas Quilt sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Sunday Swap Day September 10!

Hey there! Today is my 40th wedding anniversary! We've taken two trips, one to Chesapeake, VA to visit Mark's sister, and to Branson, MO, last week. Today we'll have a quiet day; church, dinner at home with the family, and church again.

On the stamping front, it's definitely fall around here. The nights are cooler, and the air is dry and  "dusty". To celebrate the beginning of fall, I'm sharing fall themed swaps using new Holiday Catalog products:

First,  Wendy Lee created with the Painted Harvest Bundle, using my fav, Burlap Background, on the Crumb Cake front, then stamping the sunflower with Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Early Espresso. The leaves are stamped with Old Olive and punched with the Leaf Punch.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps1

Wendy  used the Classic Label Punch to create the slot for the Scalloped Tag Topper-punched slider.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps2

Next, Kathy Johnson used the Painted Harvest Bundle, stamping her blooms with Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps3

She "fancy-cut" one bloom and a separate center to pop up on dimensionals. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz for the solid layer and Wild Wasabi for the leaf veins, punched with the Leaf Punch.

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps4

Ruth Bingle created a fun-folding card with Patterned Pumpkin Thinlets Dies and Spooky Night Designer Series Paper:

Stampin_up_pick_a_pumpkin_carolpaynestamps1

She used a Stitched Shapes Framelit for the background square:

Stampin_up_pick_a_pumpkin_carolpaynestamps2

A Paisleys & Posies sentiment coordinates with the Pick a Pumpkin images.

Stampin_up_pick_a_pumpkin_carolpaynestamps3

Finally, Cathy Miller used the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder to emboss the Crushed Curry background, then used the Pick a Pumpkin Bundle to stamp and cut out the pumpkins and gourds. "Hello Fall!" from Merry Cafe and a bit of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon complete her creation:

Stampin' Up! Painted Harvest Once Again!

Hey there! Today I want to share with you another Painted Harvest card I created while I was working on all of my cards for the Creative Crew on Splitcoaststampers. It didn't make it into my challenge offering, but I really like it and thought it was worth sharing:

Stampin_up_painted_autumn_carolpaynestamps1

I used the Painted Harvest Bundle (stamps and punch saving 10%), along with the Burlap Background and Butterfly Basics stamps.

After stamping both of the sunflower layers with Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso, I hand-cut the bloom with my Paper Snips to mount on the card front with dimensionals. I added a Gold Faceted Gem (you MUST have these if you don't already!) to the center for sparkle and dimension.

I stamped the leaves with Old Olive, then punched with the Leaf Punch included in the Painted Harvest Bundle. I adhered to the back of the sunflower with glue dots.

Stampin_up_painted_autumn_carolpaynestamps2

I created my banner with a 4 1/2" x 1" strip of Sahara Sand card stock. After I stamped the greeting with Early Espresso ink, I scored close to each end of the sentiment using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I scored another line 1/8" from both of the first scores. This allowed me to make a narrow "Z" fold for the banner lift. I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.

Stampin_up_butterfly_basics_carolpaynestamps

Inside I stamped another bloom and a Painted Harvest sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Night in Bethlehem "Stamped" Candles!

Hey there! The last project I have to share from my Night in Bethlehem presentation at Vacation Stamping School is a set of candles I stamped with the set:

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_candles_carolpaynestamps1

To "stamp" on a candle is really very easy. You don't stamp directly on the curved side of the candle. Instead, you stamp your images on ordinary tissue (wrapping) paper that you have cut in a strip long enough to go all the way around the candle and just slightly as wide as the candle is tall.

I stamped my images all together on the white tissue paper first, then wrapped the tissue around the candle. I then wrapped a piece of waxed paper tightly over the tissue paper. I held both layers tightly around the candle while using my Heat Tool to quickly heat/melt the tissue paper onto the candle surface. The wax on the waxed paper helps to seal the tissue/images onto the candle. After heating as far as I could with the first piece of waxed paper, I wrapped a second piece of waxed paper around the candle, holding it tight from the side already heated to melt and seal the rest of the tissue/images.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps3

After I finished heat-setting the tissue on to the candles I tied Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon into a bow around each one.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps2

"Stamping" on candles has been around for ages, but it's fun to re-visit oldie-but-goodie techniques with new products!

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps4

Stampin' Up! Night in Bethlehem Ornament!

Hey there! Now that I'm done sharing  my Creative Crew projects, I can finish sharing the Night in Bethlehem projects I made for Vacation Stamping School!

My project today was inspired by a Christmas card idea I found last year. It has no watermark so I can't give anyone credit for the inspiration, but here's the idea and my project side by side:
Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_ornament_carolpaynestamps1
The project on the left used retired designer paper, stamps, and dies, but the background paper is what inspired my ornament with the "cracked glass" technique!

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_ornament_carolpaynestamps2

I glue-dotted Gold Metallic Thread between two gold Foil Snowflakes (there are also silver in the package) for my ornament base. After stamping the Holy Family with black in on Very Vanilla and punching with the Everyday Label Punch, I sponged the edges with black ink. I let the ink dry for a bit, then pressed a Versamark ink pad directly on the whole piece, sprinkled with Clear embossing powder, and then heated with my Heat Tool. I repeated this process 5 times to get a thick layer of clear embossing over the image. I then popped it into the freezer for about 10 minutes, then removed and immediately twisted the paper to make the frozen embossing layers crack. I put it back in the freezer for another 10 minutes and repeated the cracking upon removal.

I sponged the cracks with Soft Suede ink to help them show up more, then adhered to the gold Foil Snowflake with several dimensionals. I cut a snowflake from a Gold Foil sheet with the smallest die in the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets. After adhering with a glue dot, I added a single pearl.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_ornament_carolpaynestamps3

On the flip side I used the cracked glass technique over the Night in Bethlehem sentiment. This handmade keepsake could possibly become a family heirloom!
