A Good Friend & Flower Power Party!

As an added treat for me, my good friend, Meg Wheeler, also earned Founder's Circle, so this year I will have a buddy to hang with at Founder's! My first year I didn't hardly know anyone, and last year was Meg's first year and was on her own too! But this year we are excited to get to hang out together! (sorry for the shaky photo, seriously, it was the best one of the bunch!) At Awards Night the next night, Meg was honored as the #15 Demonstrator of the Year and was appointed to the 2010-2011 Advisory Board! I was already proud to be her friend, but even prouder now! Go Meg!

On the evening of Check-in Day, Stampin' Up! put on a "Flower Power Party" for everyone! We were told to dress up if we wanted, and WOW, did some gals really deck out!

Think maybe I got into it just a little? When my kids saw this picture, one of them said, "oh, mom, you look so silly when you try to do attitude!" Oh well . . . !

Final Convention Swap! Crab & Company Waterfall!

My final convention swap was with a current set, Crab & Company! No new In-Colors here, just good ol' favorites, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, and Summer Sun!

Happiness Always!

I have a stamp camp scheduled in Herrin tonight for a lovely repeat hostess, Lee Ann. She requested a little folding album like one I received in a swap on the Bermuda cruise, so I designed this one for her using the new Level 3 hostess set, "Happiness Always", and new In-Colors, Kiwi Kiss (green) and Baja Breeze (blue). I also swapped some of these at convention, so decided to cut some extra for tonight's camp!

Owl Together Now!

This card was my "Shoebox Swap" at convention. This was a private swap for 48 crazy stampers. We met in a hospitality room of our hotel at convention and stamped 24 different projects in 4 hours, from 7-11 p.m. this past Friday night! This card uses that same cruise set, "Owl Together Now", as well as the Polka Dot background and "Happy Halloween" from All Holidays. It is a pop-up type card sometimes called a "tent topper". It uses the Coluzzle cutting system to achieve the rounded tops. Would you like to create a card like this at your party? Call me to schedule today!

Heard from the Heart!

I CASED this card from a sample on SCS, but did my own "twists" to make it mine: Added the white taffeta ribbon, scalloped the white layer as well as the Pink Pirouette, stamped the Riding Hood Red base with the Floral background (I love to add depth to my cards by stamping or wheeling the background!), and sponging the edges of the BoHo blossoms with the coordinating inks in Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red. The new Designer Paper, Bella Rosa, is just the right touch to go with the "May all your Wishes come true!" from the new catalog set, "Heard from the Heart"! This set is so cool, it is very similar to "Wonderful Words", but more versatile because all you have to do to stamp the single word, "Dreams", is ink up the word with the brush tip of the Stampin' Write marker. Hoot Hoot Halloween!

My next fav swap to get at convention is Halloween! I used the stamp set SU! gave us on the Bermuda cruise, "Owl Together Now", to create this swap. You can't tell real well in the picture, but I used my brayer on the glossy cardstock and combined So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, and the new In-Color, Tangerine Tango to create the halloween-ey sky! I stamped the moon from Nursery Necessities in Versamark before brayering to achieve the "Versamark resist" look!

Christmas in August!

I love to get Christmas cards as Convention swaps! It really helps give me a jump-start on the most popular season of card-making! This swap uses "Mark the Date", Full Calendar, Loads of Love, and So Swirly Jumbo wheel!

Enjoy Every Moment

This is one of my convention swaps. I used a current, non-retiring stamp set, Enjoy Every Moment. The base is Lavendar Lace, next layer is Gable Green stamped with Gable Green, and the oval colors are left to right: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, Gable Green, Almost Amethyst, and Lovely Lilac.

Convention gift!

I made this little "matchbook" post-it note holder to give as downline and friend gifts at convention. I used "Classic Stars" jumbo wheel, the new catalog set "Heard from the Heart", and New In-Color Pacific Point. I didn't have an empty jumbo cartridge to ink up with Pacific Point reinker, so I took my retiring River Rock cartridge to the sink, rinsed it and dried it with a towel (several rinsings, several dryings!), then re-inked with Pacific Point! A little dab of correction tape on the label, and voila! a Pacific Point jumbo cartridge!
