I was reading over the "Simply Neat Holiday Planning" newsletter I sent out yesterday and realized I promised to put this tutorial on my blog, but then I left to do a party and forgot all about it. Shame on me! I also found an error I need to correct as well as need to send out the Ribbon & Designer Series Paper Club info again. We need 5 people to sign up for a club before I can order the ribbon or paper, so I hope several of you sign up!
If you don't receive my newsletter, be sure to sign up for it at the box on the left!
Now, on to the tutorial:
Purse base dimensions: 10" x 2 1/2" - Scored at 2 3/16", 2 11/16", 6 1/8", and 6 5/8".
DSP dimensions: 9 x 2 1/4". DO NOT SCORE.
Lightly fold the Purse base along the scored lines, then adhere the DSP, starting at the "short" end (the end closest to the 2 3/16" scored line). The DSP will not cover all of the base, but that's ok.
Adhere Sticky Strip along the end that does not have DSP but do not remove the red tape cover. Use the Sticky Strip as your guide to punch the candy slot with the Word Window punch, then remove the red tape cover.
Stamp on the opposite side of the DSP to use as your guide to cut out your embellishment, in this case the top of the cupcake from the Big Bold Birthday Set (on sale this month for 20% off!)
Here it is after cutting out and flipping over:
Stamp and cut out the bottom of the cupcake, attach the two pieces with SNAIL, then add several Stampin' Dimensionals to the frosting area.
Attach to front flap of treatholder. Use 1/4 of a Velcro Circle to secure flap. I found if I used half circle it was too strong and I tended to rip off my cupcake when I opened it. Keep both pieces of the Velcro circle attached to each other and stick it to the open flap of the treatholder, remove the covering over the bottom piece, then close the flap. The velcro will be perfectly aligned! Velcro is very fuzzy after you cut it! ha!
So here they are! So cute! And they make up so fast!
Here are the rest of the treatholders I made in case you missed my newsletter!
